Come on ripp that Alpha off and tell us your full code ;)
Our 2100's are B cores, but we don't have many left. I assume all future batches will be B cores now too.
Our 1800's are still A cores.
1700's are discontinued, stock will disappear of those.
OCPC also have some B core 2100's in, we sold him another batch today.
I just ordered a Athlon XP 2100+ AIUHB 0250 from ExCaliberPC. I hope mine does as well as yours.
I can vouch for Sam and tekheads. I have another 2100+ (green AIUHB 0250 '9') sat here to go in a m8s PC. This one isnt quite as good but its close. 2183mhz @ 1.6v. Bought from Tekheads on Wednesday afternoon. Asked for the stepping, the guy nipped off and picked up a 2100, confirmed it as an AIUHB 0250 and sent me that exact cpu out of his hand. Arrived 8:15am next morning. Cant argue with service like that :).

[PS] Is my tenner in the post Sam? ;)
Hey PiLsY, did you try how high your chip would go? I've been seeing alot of the lower Bs hitting 2.5Ghz with low voltage, but after that they can't go much higher, even with 2.2v. It seems like the headrooms of the lower Bs and the higher Bs are different:confused:
Thats a nice OC Pilsy, keep up the good work!
Craig
Im looking for the 4 letter combination after the production date. There has been speculation those with MPMW provide 2.4 - 2.5gig quite reliably, and those with VPUW are able to scale above this, even with aircooling.Quote:

Heres the main parts...
AIUHB 0250 '9'
Dont think any of the other bits matter tbh.
I'll pull the heatsink off and post the full stepping up when I replace the PSU :).
PiLsY.
VPUW sounds familiar.
It definitely had a U and a W in anyway....Although I seem to remember a D in there somewhere as well.
PiLsY.
What is the point here????
He is running as low as 31C... Or Either his computer in under snow outside or with a air conditioner direct to the case opened.
:D :D :D

uhm.... a system temp of 31C is a pretty warm room actually ... his CPU was at 50C load
However, PilsY, I'm getting impatient on this end ... give that CPU some stick would you? :D
Its in the Prometia.....
Whats the highest CPUID for an AMD on here yet? I may be in with a shot.......
I cant seem to run Prime95 at any speed over 2298mhz. The next step up, 2306 locks up after 10 tests or so, 2309 locks up the instant I click torture test. However, ive now been running folding, playing games and generally fooling around at 2880mhz for 46 hours without a reboot now with no sign of instability.
Problem though - the highest I can get the board stable is 222mhz. Highest multi I can use is 13x. Im maxed out :(. Have to drop to 218mhz to use dual ddr as well, so an even bigger loss.
Is there any way to get the high pull multis working (13.5x and upwards)? Im still only at 1.7v here.....
PiLsY.
hmmm noticed the same thing, Prime wont run at all well but I can fold or play games all day long without a problem...
screw prime is my opinion
BTW, checked your stepping? -VPUW right? :(
Hey PiLsY, could you check your PM?
One question.
I am getting an 2100+ AIUHB very soon, maybe tomorrow, so I was wondering, what are the main "ingredients" of a good OCer ?
The CPU will definitely be AIUHB, maybe 0248 or 0249 or even 0250 if I can wait one more day.
Does anything else matter much, such as color, ?
VPMU after the Production date seems to stand among those 2.8gig results :(
Still not pulled it apart....
Will do it tonight after work :).
PiLsY.
I finally killed one of old CPUs and oredered one of those CPUs!
I hoping that I get the correct stepping. I am calling the vendor but, doubtful that newegg will pull my CPU and tell me the stepping.
I will post again this week with results on air - Volcano 7+.
Praying for results nearing Pilsy's but realizing I will probably be short.

Thanks for the links mate ! been looking for some new shops! Any comments about service quality and such
/Thread hijack :smileysex
OCPC im not sure of m8. On the one hand Jess seems very helpful, on the other nothing ever seems to come of it. We shall see.
The other 2 I have no hesitation in recommending - superb stores.
VGI are also a long time favorite of mine due to the customer service. Theyre more pricey than most places (but only by a couple of quid) but would move heaven and earth for you if you asked.
Full cpu stepping...
AXDA2100DUT3C
AIUHB0250XPAW
96075987 (may have missed a couple of numbers off there but that bit isnt important anyway :)).
Note the XPAW.....never heard of that one before.
PiLsY.
PilsY
I've seen XPAW before ... had a Palomino like that once even (2100+ too)
I have a 0250XPSW (2 of them actually) and they both suck a$$ :(
I cant see the pictures... plz tell me your top atm ! :)
I've also an AIUHB 0250... default voltage going to 2260!
To be fair I dont think these 4 letter codes have much to do with the ocing. Theres so many different combos of them it could be something as simple as a code for the day and time of production. Certainly nothing to do with speed binning otherwise wed see the XPAW and XPSW chips returning very similar results.
Still down to pot luck imo.
PiLsY.
Well, got a week 50 today, and so far i've managed to get 2280 (175x13) at 1.6v (prom cooled), in a kd7-raid .. let's see where this guy can go. So far is looking promising.
That is a great overclock for air cooling Pilsy. I picked up a 0302 greenie 2100+ from newegg the other week I am amazed at how well it can overclock. Right now it is running at only 2015 at stock voltage and only 26 degreed C at load! The mobo sucks for high fsb and can't go any higher than 155mhz because when you turn off the pc, the bios resets it back to 133. Very poor mobo. Stay away from Gigabyte
I tend to agree with PiLsy's wisdom.Quote:

I finally ordered the 2100 from the egg.
I JUST installed 3 PCs on my home network for folding.
I put that cheap amd hsf on one of my CPUs.
I was at my desk when it popped off and the CPU fried.
I will not make that mistake again!
On the bright side I ordered this wonder chip and a Volc7+ to keep it cool.
It should be here tomorrow and I will share its ocing ability and get back to full force folding.
Thanks for the recommendations and reviews on this CPU!
