What I really want to know...is it SMP aware?
3DMark06 Features
DirectX® 9 3D game performance benchmark
Includes separate graphics card and CPU benchmarks
Produces workloads that simulate next generation 3D gaming requirements
Advanced 3D game engine supports HDR Rendering with SM3.0 Shaders, in addition to SM2.0 Shaders
Includes two HDR/SM3.0 game tests and two SM2.0 game tests
CPU performance testing via AI and physics workloads for both single core systems and multi-threaded, multi-core and multiple processor environments
3D graphics feature tests include Fill Rate, Pixel Shader, Vertex Shader, SM3.0 tests, and Batch Size tests .
think about it, if this had been released a month earlier, ATI would have almost no cards that could fully support it.
Wonder how high clock speed Cedarmills with HT will handle this...?Quote:

I find that those that keep up with hw enough to make a difference to them if they score 1k in 3d06 are just regular users who go with the flow. Its out of that segment that we see top notch benchers coming out....so it isn't all that bad.
I'm in the group that could care less...but its fun to benchmark a 9500 (or in my case an x800pro) on 3d06 to laugh at it :) ... but also to see what advancement has occured in 3d design and programming, which fuels a multi-billion dollar gaming and 3d animation industry...which is nothing to scoff at.
DONT LOOK BELOW YET !!!!! Have a seat...have some water....ready now ? k now look down :)

So you actually have the X1900
lol...I'm perkammy whammy...the friendly neighbourhood news anchor for XS. Me getting an X1900 would be like thinking Mr. Rogers would get a ferrari...it aint gonna happen :p
Though many of the top notch ocers should have it upon launch...apparently the launch will be on a massive scale...

Yay 3dmarks here for only one reason, make pc's feel 50% of what they really are, kind of like the jelouse friend saying "you look fat in those jeans" deal :D  .
I wonder how many will be running a RAID of the new WDraptor's as well?:p: @ 1400 for 4 WD's, 1300 for crossfire, abt1300 for fx60, 225 for crossfire mobo, 250 for 2gb ram, 600 for 1000w:D  :D PSU...heck, that's one expensive system. Thank god tax time is coming, and the trade shows have started again!;)Quote:

I assume r580 is out tomorrow as well then ?
so that 3dmark06 can match up with :-

US$ listed... some approximated.
thats what i'm working on and its only missing the 18gb hdd's really.. should give your suggested setup a run for its money cadaveca ;)
so do that $$$ per 3dmark pts thread again that we had here a while back hehe
I think this is better, STEvil:
$330 Opteron 165 (has done 2.7 @ 1.45v)
$169 Sapphire Pure Innovation PI-A9RX480
$599 X1900XT
$197 2GB Gskill Extreme Series PC-4000

The mobo isn't crossfire...but then again, the only alternative to the Sapphire above I'd recommend for the price is to wait for the RD580 if you HAVE to go crossfire...with an X1900XT, IMO you wouldn't need to :p:
