Man that 170 looks REALLY REALLY nice....I want one...lol what online retailers allow you to inquire about the stepping if there are any? I think I heard tank guys but are there any others..Also anyone tested these steppings for cold bug?

looks good! new steppings are looking up, as the past few haven't been so good.
i've got a few more procs on the way (165s, 170s, and 175s) so i'll let you know what the steppings are.

fz1: i have a divider on it but i havent loosened the timings, so its running at 135mhz @ 2-3-2-5
nice so far Maglc I see you have it running at 2.75ghz with only 1.34 vcore fromy our SN,,, its looking good so far
Rigth now it's dual priming small fft's at 2,8ghz with 1,375v windows read (1,375 x 104%) core 1 didn't like 2,8ghz with either stock voltage or 1,344v windows measuring (auto x 104%).
But core 0 didn't seem to have any problems.

I cant get stable at 2.7ghz with 1.63 vcore,,, so you are miles ahead at the moment,,, seems like you struck some good luck with that chip,,,
the 0530 TPMW's are very good at stock volts like most DC Opties. It's above that it gets tricky. I can get to 2.75ghz on stock vcore too, but anymore than that requires lots of extra volts. Same thing goes for a lot of other steppings that I've seen.
It's now running and still going at 50min of dual prime95 Large FFT's both at HIGH priority at 280x10 auto x 110% 1:1 3-3-3-8.
But I changed drive and data strength from 6 and 7 / 2 and 3, to 4/1 with this setting my san diego didn't load windows at all.
So maybe it didn't needed + 110% but I'll test that later.
Last what does no affinity in SP2004 mean, and should it be checked or unchecked?

right now i doubt it, core 1 failed at 55min :stick: it seems random witch core will fail, core 0 seems to like "higher" voltage - 1,42v and didn't fail there.. core 1 runs better at low voltage.
and its getting rather hot 1,36v = 50 degrees load temp

I'm trying out 2,85Ghz now same vcore as this picture.
Edit: bah anything involving memory cause failure.

I bought this chip in Sweden by the way.
This chip doesn't behave like yours at all.
It tops out at 312*9=2800MHz (two instances of prime )but it
needs 1.62V to do it. Also that is with the IHS removed and on watercooling.
The temps is very low though, about 40 at full load and around 25
at idle. At stock volts it will only overclock to about 2400 MHz,
but it scales fairly nice with voltage.
It was quite tricky to get it to 2.8GHz since it didn't like
the same memorytimings as my Opty 146 CABYE 0540 FPBW(3100MHz),
though when I finally got it stable I must state that I am very pleased
with it. One can run one instance of Prime 95 and run a 3D-benchmark
or game and there is like no difference!

im also trying to figure out my ballistix on this chip, is not anything like my sandiego.
I have also experienced that it seems a bit random when one push it
to high, one boot it will be stable at 2850 and go through dual instances
of prime95 Large FFT's the next boot it craps out after 1 minute.
I have no idea why that is, I havent experienced that on any CPU before.
I will probably back of a bit and run it a bit lower for my 24/7 use.
It feels pretty good to be able to run 200MHz above FX-60 speeds,
at less than a 1/3 of the price!!!
Do you think it is safe to run it at 1.62V, the max load temp never
goes above 40 degrees, so i think it shoud be OK?
Also I can say that I don't trust the temp readings, when i removed the IHS
the temp didn't drop but I could overclock it 100MHz higher.
That couldn't be if the temp had not dropped right?
i would says 1,62v is fine with that temp, have u installed the amd driver thingy? maybe that'll help reading your temps
