i cant wait for 975 boards to appear. Also, i thought the 9xx series arent supposed to work on 955X? Or is that just Conroe or whatever the other next gen chips are?

All 65nm Single and Double Core will work with the 955X, except for some odd reason Vic has the 955XE working on the 955X chipset based ASUS wich Intel said it was going to be the ONLY CPU not to work in the 955X. Then again, I have no plans for a 955XE.

955xe cpu is ocing & working well on my ASUS P5WD2 Premium, no need any mod lol

Does it run prime95 stable there?

24/7 , 4prime95 stable @ 1.35v(bios) 4prime95 stress ram(max heat) 300*14 running :p:

bios version : 0606

Cannot wait til the Presler / CedarMills come out ....

At 4.5 it will pull even with the X2..but so did the 800 Series Intel chips..And that beiing the case it appears the die shrink has done little to improve performance.


Also he is saying unless I am reading it wrong 4.2 with water is 24/7 stable ? If thats the case then again it is still hanging with there 90nm chips as far as water cooled speeds go..I see a bit better memory band width..Other then that it looks like the same old same old intel . .

The real testing will only be when you and I can grab a retail version of the shelf and put H2O cooling on it, then and only then, will we really know how good Presler is at overclocking. :fact:

I have a 955XE ES that I will be trying on a DFI 925XE board...
