It does work with GTX. But you need first to change device to 7800GTX and then extended voltage table. Then you get 1,5v. The problem is that you loss 2D volt but you can change it to 1,3v.
With GTX 512mb you can “only” get 1,5v. That it.
It would be nice if someone could test this on there GTX.
Did your overclock increase? That is the most important thing. :)
Anyone tried 1.8V with biosmod?
i've just been wondering, and this may sound like a really stupid question...
if this bios mod makes four entries instead of three, what is it that tells the card to actually use the fourth setting (1.5v-vid3)?
how come it isn't just ignored? :shrug:

Yes it did. I run 530/570/1260 stable. Before I could just run 500/540/1260 stable. 30Mhz more ain´t bad :toast:Quote:

:woot: i finally got round to flashing my 7800 bios
i was playing around with ati tool, but no matter what speed the card was set to, ati tool constantly produced artifacts :rolleyes:
i gave up with that and decided to just do an autodetect in the nvidia control panel
it picked 498MHz for the core and 1.19GHz for the memory
i was a little dubious about it, but left it and ran 3dmark05. to my surprise it ran right through with no crashes and no graphical corruption - finally i managed to score above 8000 :banana: :D
i ran it through again with all the tests selected, and it passed again

previously i would get errors running it with a 475 core, so my max oc was 470/1.18 before the mod
cooled with a zalman vf700cu, peak temperature is 58C so far according to motherboard monitor 5
this is my highest score yet, thanks for finding and sharing this mod Dr.Leary :clap:

would it be possible to edit the bios to use three levels (as per the original) but step the 3d modes up one notch?
something like...
voltage 3: 1.5v = 2 - 1.5v
voltage 2: 1.4v = 1 - 1.4v
voltage 1: 1.2v = 0 - 1.2v
or would it have to be like
voltage 3: 1.5v = 3 - 1.5v
voltage 2: 1.4v = 2 - 1.4v
voltage 1: 1.2v = 0 - 1.2v
Trying this right now on my BFg 7800 GTX 256mb. Will post back with results.
Well I did everything as posted. Nibitor showed vgpu as 1.5v as it should. Flashed, booted up, went to the oc panel and tried 527. No go as i won't even pass the self test. So I opened up Atitool, and hard set it to 527 and hit detect artifacts which insta crashed windows.
So either my card doesn't react well to the up in the voltage or it didn't work.
It worked like a charm on my XFX 7800GT! Using Coolbits Detect Optimal Frequencies:
Before: 488 / 1.12
After: 512 / 1.17

Hmm with an SLI setup can I flash both cards at once? I may grab some zalman coolers and do this instead of a hard mod :D
i think you have to do each card seperately.
mh, does increasing the voltage reduce the card's lifetime? i'm afraid of killing my card by bios(-volt)modding it :[
It does, but this 0.1 increase won't kill it that much faster than stock.
