Nice review :toast:
Great Review, this was just the kind of PS I was looking for. Those 22A rails are calling my name...
What about the voltage rails when you play games?
Few days ago I bought Tagan EasyCon 530W (:stick: :stick: needed a PSU urgently and would have to wait for Liberty for ~10 days) and while OCCT shows stable 12v rail at ~12.01v, as soon as I set up a game like Serious sam 2 the 12v rail drops to 11.88v (this is im MBM). Later today I hope I can chack the rails with a DMM
Also, could you be so kind and please post some pictures as how the 3.3v rail voltage is measures; 12v and 5v rails are measured from molex, what about 3.3v? ATX connector?
tagan= bequiet =ocz= tsp = some more stuff= topower, ok it's defently good stuff, but th p5 serie has a problem with the -5volt lain. if you try to have a fully load on it, the psu will break down ..., that the reason why my ocz powerstream 520watt was in rma. can't wait to see the next generatopn of topower psu's thow. hope there won't be the problem with the -5volt lain. but in germayy the only p6 serie psu that is avaible ist from be quiet and i don't like be quiet psu's because there pretty hot in compartion to tsp and ocz.Quote:

Two thumbs up from me. I was going to just get a 400watt, thank god it was out of stock.
Cheapest place I saw was zipzoomfly, and that included free 2nd day air. A total bargin :)

(though they did raise the price by 3 dollars, it was 115 when I picked it up)
The 620watt looks awesome, but at a 100 dollar premium over the 400 watt... I dont know, but I am glad i got the 500 with all the power hungry things I have. If my 500watt does everything that it does, I cant possibly see what a 620 watt would do for me. The power supply is always ice cold and the 120mm fan never spins faster than 1000rpm.
*shrug* I have always had the best luck with enermax.
Enermax and Power PC and cooling are my favorites!
I was rather worried about the modular plug design, but it seems very sturdy. Thick pins with tight connections, i see no issue or power problems, but what do I know.
My voltage is dead on, it is stable. I am a happy guy. Maybe if I had two 7800gtx 512's I would pop for the 620, but I aint that rich lol.
Edit:
My only HUGE issue with this power supply is the STUPID 5 wire and 4 wire molex power connectors that are RIGHT next to eachother.
Enermax says this gives users choice, but it is REALLY annoying. The wires get in the way. I wish they would have just included more cables since there are left over plugs on the power supply anyway.
That is by far the biggest downfall of this PSU. On my model btw, the 24pin motherboard connector was just one connector, not two as pictured by review.
It is hard to imagine that I have had this powersupply for about a month now. I purchased on 11/14 and still running perfect.
Does the voltages drop when you play games? I just bought Tagan EasyCon 580W (xchanges it for 530W because it was quieter) and the 12v rail drops significantly when gaming, otherwise at OCCT test it is stable.Quote:

The enermax liberty has a 120mm fan that spins at around 950rpm, it is extremely quiet.
i am currently using the liberty on another rig, but as soon as I finish up I will be more than happy to do some benchmarks.
Looking forward to it irev :)

Measure your psu with a multimeter:)
I have the Tagan 2Force 480w SLi (w/ the switch that allows either single rail or dual rail). you do know that u can get much better than 11.86. i used to get around that load. now it never drops below 12.10. read it in the xtreme mods section, relitively easy :D
Here is my system (a REAL power hog)
DFI EXPERT
AMD Opteron 165 overclocked to 2.7gighz @ 1.53Vcore
GEIL ONE W (BH) at 3.42Vdimm
two 7800GTX's in SLI mode
two 7200 RPM HDD's (used to have four, only two atm)
Um, I think that is everything.
Okay, just tested my Enermax with OCCT
3.3V
Ripple: 0.00 0.06%
5V
Ripple: 0.03 0.53%
12V
Ripple: 0.07 0.53%
Core voltage
ripple: 0.01 0.49%
I have no idea how good this is, but seems decent i guess.
Okay, wow, i just ran 3D05+OCCT
That gave the 12V rails a workout.
The 12V rail would dip from 12.4V to 12.3V when the dual 7800GTX's kicked in on 3D05
Ripple: 0.13 or 1.06%
When I post the graph, you can see every hump when I wasnt runnin 3D05.
Core voltage was pretty good, Ripple: 0.01 or 0.62%, no spikes, nothing radical
3.3V rail was perfectly steady at 3.345, which isnt bad I guess.
Ripple: 0.02 or 0.48%
The 5V rail seemed to move around the most. Sits between 5.04 and 5.055 for the most part cept with the test starts and ends it is at 5.075.
Ripple: 0.04 or 0.78%

My questions, How would a PP&C 510watt SLI power supply do? Those are supposed to be top notch, any graphs on that?
Hmmm, from so many Liberty reviews I expected a little straigther rails from Liberty. Something like this from Seasonic - http://www.slo-tech.com/script/forum...90680&mesto=49
(sorry, this is all in slovene, but the graphs are universal:D :D ).
This are the graphs from my Tagan EasyCon 530W with Venice 3000+@2745,
however, is seems thet my boared has issues when FSB is over 300.

I think thet for the time being I will stick with Tagan, returning it and waiting for Enermax seems to much trouble for a minor gain. No local store has info whether Liberty will even be available, ufff Slovene computer stores:stick: :stick: :stick: :stick: )
irev210, thank you so much:toast: :toast:
Yah, the tagan doesnt seem bad.
I wish you had some 7800GT or GTX's to really go wild on the 12v rail.
I am tempted to take out the 7800gtx's to see how big of a factor those cards play.
That is a really steady Vcore. I dunno, maybe the enermax liberty is overrated.
Regardless, I am happy with a powersupply that can run all the garbage I got for 115 bucks delivered. I hope I can figure out some tricks to get things a little more consistant.
Yeah, I would also like to get a GTX (or even GTX SLI), but no money...
also it would be a waste, as I mainly play FRP games, and only occasionally
FPS.
Best regards,
Saso
p.s. I do not think that Enermax is overrated, IMHO it still beats Tagan in stability...but for me personally it is to much trouble, as Enermax is not yet available locally and would have to wait for a week or more for it.
wow, okay i just set all my settings to stock voltages, what a difference that makes.
New graphics coming on non-overclocked system
Great! Looking forward to it....some of my friends are eagerly waiting for Liberty to became available in Slovenia...but most
of our computer stores are run by morons...so they are still
waiting and :slobber: :slobber: over your posts:D
ohoho...nice to see so much people here....in some days I'll try to stress the PSU with 2x7800 GTX 512 mb eVGA......:)
Indeed Cap, it seems you starting something here...though irev has already tested with two GTXs and found only the 12v rail to fluctuate a bit on full load...
Looking forward to your extended stress results :D Dont forget the pics !!! :D
Perkam
I am going to do some really huge stress testing today, I want to really kick this powersupplies ass, see if it can hold up.
I wish someone had a PP&C 510 that we could compare to.
You wouldn't want to :p: I've seen PCP&C PSUs go from 12.0v to 12.01v on load that kills some powersupplies...its way out of the Enermax's league...even knowing how good the enermax is ;)
Perkam
bladesinger, why do you think that Seasonic's graphs shows better performance than enermaxes. Those Seasoncic's 12v graph is just unrealistic, so there was inacurrate reading from mobo or program, 12v allways fluctuates a bit, but fluctuation it self is not that big of a deal, you should pay attention on how strong it is, it never falls bellow 12.2v, not nearly and vcore fluct, which is in enermax readings perfectly stable and in Seasonic fluctuates a bit, that is the most important thing.
But we must have in mind that all those readings that mb provides us have turned on many occasions really inaccurate so they sould not be trusted. Some reviews have used osciloscope to measure line fluct and it turns out that they fluct much more than you could se on this graphs.
p.s. funtech is expecting some Liberty 500, possibly some 620 real soon.
zbogorgon thanx for this information...will keep in touch with FUNTECH to get a 620W one...:)
Regards,
Primoz
Ej Zbogi is here too:D
.... regarding the Seasonic....Primoz already told me that his Seasonic was fluctuating very happily
on the 12v rail:slapass:
As for the graphs, since there was little other info to compare between Tagan EasyCon and Enermax
Libery PSUs, I compared the graphs; Gufy's Seasonic was just used for reference (but as already said,
he must have a very good PSU or he is plain lucky). I know that all PSUs fluctuate a bit, but I was
interested primarily in comparing the graphs between the Enermax and Tagan (as I had a chance to
return Tagan - but decided to stick with it for the time being).
I also know that if I use a better videocard instead of my 6600GT Extreme, my 12v rail would
probably drop even further:mad:
Thanks for the tip, might try that when my warranty is done lol , don't have a lot of money and if it breaks I want to use the warranty:stick:Quote:
