Not a big hit at all though :D

Yes, it's only up to 8X but it doesn't affect performances at all because the 8X slot's bandwidth is enough for (I think) any card :)Quote:

16x is faster than 8x isnt the only reason
the top card has a shorter bus to the rest of the system
Do you actually think the longer trace would affect the performances? In electronics a signal is usually considered to take zero seconds to be transmitted and received when talking about such short distances.Quote:

why do u think the ram is in the orange, rather than yellow slots in the dfi nf4 ultrad ;)
I never considered the distance factor, I put the RAM in the yellow slots in my board because they are #1 and #3 slots. Did anybody prove that putting it in the orange ones makes the system faster?Quote:

looks to be around the same price as the blue zalman

Haha, but that's $65AUD compared to the NB47J's $11AUD. :slap:Quote:

I have a similar problem, my MSI K8N SLI platinum's nForce4 chipset cooler makes such a terrible noise.. now I have a Zalman NB cooler (the blue one).
BUT
How should I install it? The problem is I use a Arctic Silencer on my X800XL (in fact, it was already installed, it is a HIS IceQII :)). Of course the Silencer's fan is right on top of the chipset cooler. To install that Zalman I have to a) shorten the heatsink thinks, so cut it off to almost the bottom of the Zalman block and b) bend a few of those things, but I think i have to cut off most of them.
Maybe I should use the second PCI-E slot? IS THIS POSSIBLE? Do I have to turn the switch of that SLI thing on the mobo?
Any response would be greatly appreciated :)
I don't think the heatsink would fit by moving the card to the lower slot because of the board's layout, unlike DFI nF4 boards yours has the nF4 too close to the second PCI-E slot and so the video card would still collide with the heatsink.Quote:
