I'm also glad that you'll be putting an Opteron through its paces..................i think it's definately worth the wait.....and really no need to compare to that ATI thing....this mobo has already proven to be miles ahead after such a short test run.............. :toast:

That DDR650 you are referring to on the RAM....are we talking 2.5-4-3-7 1T memtest and windows stable :) and same CPU you got in there now

That was with a 3700+ SD and the same ram on a modded Ultra D i have here.

It was 32m pi and prime stable to 6hrs at 325fsb.

Hey tony can you tell me some more about the 4800plats and the EB. I want to consider them as well. Right now I am thinking ballistix will yield the greatest oc but who knows.

i was going to ask for high clocking opteron sake what the max HTT is without needing to bump voltages...................also i've come across posts stating that chipset temps on current DFIs with dual core CPUs are generally higher......can you check that when you start playing with one..........i've got an Opteron 165 patiently waiting for this mobo :wasntme: and it would be interesting to know that info

4800Plat elite is dual spec, its high quality TCCD that does well over 300 when tweaked correctly.

4000EB is good to around 260-270 in 3d where the memory controller load is high. It does 3-3-2 with 2.7Vdimm or so and is my present favourite ram.

Not good to hear about the VX though why is that happening? VX is the best ram since old school BH5 and the best 512mb modules full stop!

I will say this, my modded ultra D is a FINE board, so much so i have been offered $350 for it. This eXpert is also a fine board for me upto now, I won't play with IDE and SATA as thats not what im bothered about, but ram clocking it seems to be doing real well upto now.

you can run a 4 pin on the board, it will proably do just fine. you can also buy the adapter that uses a molex or 2 to give the extra 4 pin to make up the 8 pins.

So tested EB, as you know load with 2gig kits is high so you won't see superpi max from me, only 3d stable will do.

x700pro video so no records broken, I will post bios screens later as skew was needed here.

:woot: x700 Pro POWA! :D Looking good so far Tony - i'm going to have to get one of these soon as the egg gets them...my Ultra-D is a refurb that can't overclock....at all...lol. Thanks for keeping us up to date with info :)
