yeah gold fish are tough, they can live in cooler water...cooler than ambient anyhow... good idea
andrew
seems to be a really nice design...
and almost completely quite...

I posted the bong guide at hwa.

This w/cing sections a tad crowded so it may stay over there. Sorry guys, but you can always register up and enjoy the room. *stretches legs* Now NoL's gonna need a walk, too much typing guides lately! :woot: :D
hmm, i'm liking the HX idea, though I think I'd design my HX a bit differently; probably more like a cascade HX (tube in tube, but i'd probably use 1/2 ID in 3/4ID or 1/2ID in 5/8ID copper pipe). so many fun things to try, so little time.
Post it on up. Still I think its crowded here, and I know your at hwa as well bloody. Throw it up so I can clay pigeon it....
(for those that dont get the metaphor, shoot holes thru it)
I like this a bit better.

The only thing with this, if you read section five of the guide on hwa, your running thru a double setup of transfering heat and cold. A filter if your woried will solve all your problems and be cheaper. Plus trying to get a heatercore like that? Have fun. ;)
And nice drawing... You and your awesome looking stuffs.
You build a acrylic box around the normal heater core, and of course seal it up.
Right but why not just get a filter? Cheaper and more efficient.
*bows to Tinker's 1337 MSPaint talents*
well, if i was to bong it up, i guess i'd use a filter... wish bongs weren't 5 feet tall though.
Why? If anyone insults your cooling ideas you can then kill them with it.
What about additives like Zerex and things like that? People don’t want to breathe that stuff in while it's heating up. And what did you mean by getting a heater core like that, I didn’t fallowQuote:

I find algae and stuff to be more of a urban w/cers myth than anyhting else. Hasnt hit me yet. :( And wiht a bong your evaporating your water so its a lot less time for algae to form.
niiiiiiiiiiice.Quote:

Yea ... I gotta check this out. Ether for my work station or for my home theater PC. The dripping sound it will make most likely wont bother me too much. Ill tell my fiance to water it every day as if it were a plant. :D
I would put the radiator so its top is at the surface of the water... It would give you even better temps, because you'll have the coldest water there compared to having the rad in the middle of the reservoir...Quote:

Noob said it like 400 times already to not do a dual system, you'll get better temps with a single loop. I haven’t tried ether so I wouldn’t know the differences.'Quote:

This is wrong.Quote:

As its evaporative you CAN get a little under ambient.
My system was running about 2*c under ambient with my AthlonXP and GF3/9800pro. (cant remember what graphics card it was, long time aggo)
One point of note.
If you submerge a heatercore into the bong, this will act like an excelent filter, and will fill up with any gunk that grows in, or falls into the bong.
Bad idea IMO.
I had a filter come with my eheim pump that was pretty effective. You can easily use one of these at your pump inlet to stop "most" of the dirt getting into your waterblocks.
I remember that weapon was on about a filter res, anybody know if he made it in the end?
tHomas I think you need to read the guide before you argue a point.
