EDIT: I just looked at his posts and look at his temps...-12@3400 and -28@3600. If I remember correctly from his other posts, his phase usually keeps his chips at -40. That CABGE is putting out a LOT of heat!

Actually, by what I've read in feedback of the various steppings the N's run the hottest. That's maybe why we see many people using high vcore with the Y's and G's. Remember, this is "xtreme systems" and I'd hope we have people that would maximize their chip's oc potential. ;)

Also, OPB stated the reason why he may be able to get his/viddax's CABGE to oc higher with phase. It's because it may not have the cold bug like he's experienced with the FX's (CABNE and CAB2E).

Yup, as kakaroto stated OPB's relationship with G.SKill has come to an end (actually it happened quite awhile back - I just didn't want to be the one to confirm it :p: ). But on the bright side - OPB has started a venture with ANOTHER memory company. I'm not going to go into details as it's not my place, but I'm sure OPB will let the cat outta the bag when the timing's right ;)

I have a 150 CABGE - need some advice if you will

Im running an opteron 150 CABGE stepping
an xp-120 heatsink
dfi lanparty nf4 SLI-DR
2x 1GB ballistix pc4000

im a first time overclocker - and would like some tips

cant seem to get mine to 3.0 ghz :(

mine cabge 150 .. does about 2950 at 1.44vcore on air .. definitely could do over 3gzh on air

Hey guys.. just got a 150. I think this will be my keeper. Newegg retail $338 ==> cabge 0534spmw. Good to hear it likes the cold more than the "better" steppings since it will be going under a chilly1 modded mach1.

OPB - Any more tuning on that chip? Is that the same phase unit used on this chip that is used in you sig? I assume not since you're running -13 under load.

We need to turn this into the 150 + opteron oc thread. The official opty oc thread is nothing but 146s and some 148s. Pia to find info on a 150 or higher.
