I would be more interested what the difference is in terms of overclocking features/stability/options instead of the number of memory slots or SATA connectors. Can anyone comment on this please?Quote:

btw.. there's one fella on the big e that has 50 p4gd1, at ~10 euro above
the price listed up there. the gpl-x seems to be fairly common, 58 shops
carry them supposedly, but only a handful show them as really available
(though the listing says "in stock").
charlie,
you did run both boards, right. which one felt better? the gpl-x is a kinda
stripped down gd1 with 2 ramslots missing and a few other things, like the
ide-raid and a slightly smaller nb-hs than the gd1. did you notice any real
differences in performance between the two?
Ah, ok... next time ill check my informations before writing sh*t in here^^Quote:

i also saw the ebay offer, i already called them and expect them to call me back tomorrow with details :)
they have 50 boards, maybe even 100, and they offer them for 90€, im sure i can get a rebate from them :D
shops that use ebay tend to be more rebate friendly :D
but you live in the us?Quote:

ive tried both boards with my previous 730.
Same hardware was used in the test, both mobos were Vmodded(chipset)
GD1 was going to 286 Pi 1MB stable (tightest bios settings for ram,2x256 BH-5,Vdd=1.97v)
GPL-X only 261 Pi 1MB stable.Cant run with Turbo though. And max Vdd was 1.72v.Any higher voltage-->coruption in desktop.
asus america will not support these boards am i correct?
Saaya you said there were only 2 left right from that cheap store? Are they going to have anymore in stock?
Saya hope you do get a discount beacuse it is $127 jus for the board..It seems like it going to be one expensive mobo for me but in the end it should all be worth it.Keep us updated  .Jus wondering how MUCH the P4GPL-X is? if there ain't much of a differnce between it and the p4gd1.Could save a couple bucks and need to cause I am poor student.
The P4GPL-X only got one P-ATA connector. :)Quote:

i dont think the shop with the 2 boards for 89€ will get more stock, but i sent them a mail just now. i think theres a good chance i can get a bunch of boards for 90€ or less from that other shop wich has 50 boards in stock and currently offers them for 100€
I am very interested in 2 p4gd1's shipped to me in the US, I am willing to pay $200 max per board, however $150 per would be great. Please put me on this list :toast:
Keep us posted on this :)
Hrm just thought don't have a GFX card to run.... And with Yonah just around the corner..
Sorry to change me mind/muck things around :(
asus america will have not have support on these right?
i'm gonna go call asus america now, hopefully they are open
edit: they werent open, damn. the boards should be supported, but i'll try calling again on monday.
Sorry. As much as I want to, I really dont have the time to change platforms again. Not until dual core pm's are here.
Ok guess I'll take one then if you can ship to Canada, wouldn't it be cheaper for saaya to ship them directly to the buyers?
When will this get started?
cirthix, if asus america supports these boards count me in!
that depends on when the guy / shop returns his questions and says yayQuote:

and shipping it to one place on your shores to do the redistribution is
way less hassle for saaya. just think of 20 parcels going overseas (usa /
canada). each needs a customs declaration done, etc.. that will take
quite some time - speaking of my own experiences here. also it *may*
(or may not) be cheaper to ship one big insured package instead of
20 smaller, but nontheless insured, packages. once they hit your shores
shipping them to their final destination should be considerably less.
this last paragraph is *my* estimation (not based on anything, but
probably commonsense, who knows <gg>)
Why would they not support? Don't they have a global warranty? At least asus notebooks have global warranty.Quote:

But we shall see :p:
To answer your questions, shipping to me will cost about 60 usd for 10 boards. shipping from me to the rest of the us will cost about 10usd each. That brings the total shipping cost to about 16usd per board.
If saaya were to ship you a board directly for germany, it would cost about 40usd per board.
This is off of asus's GLOBAL support pagej, which can be found here.

Note that in other categories, there are differences in the warranty depending on where you are. This is not true with motherboards :)

so i was right about the shipping, i guess. and if saaya would ship to me, it would
be about 8 bucks :D. for once being european, german even pwns :)
i checked, more like 30$, but its still cheaper to send it all to you or somebody else and he then ships it internationally in the us.Quote:

and shipping to me will only be 10$ total! :D
i said i will call them agai and tell them how many boards i want on friday or monday next week. i should get the boards early next week and will send them out right away, so they will arrive at cirthix or whoever distributes the boards in the us by the end of next week or the beginning of the week after that :)
please ask everybody you know who might want to have a board too, the way it seems those are the last p4gd1s so they are going to extinct soon :D
