2GHz with 1.75V ain't great at all...... and that with Tbred B.....
Those might be remarked bad 2400+/2600+ cores..... I don't know.... I was thinking more about 2GHz@1.6V.... not 1.75V... this is weak for TbredB... :(

I think we're expecting to much from these chips. As always, there will be some good chips around and some bad ones.Quote:

Only later badges will tell us how good they really are.
I've also been waiting for these for ages. Now I'm a little disappointed :|. Can you tell us your exact cooling setup, please? CPU temp, ambient etc.
Thanks,
dojobi
You're right, but that's TbredB afterall...... it;s supposed to be better than the "A" revision, look all those 2400+ and above.... even the POS 2400+ are doing better..... oh well....... let's do the "wait and see" thing :cool:Quote:

Welcome to Xtreme, dojobi.
As posted before, board is the Epox 8k5a2+, cooler is Swiftech 462A with Panaflo L1A, PSU is Chieftech 360W.
Room temp is around 16°C, cpu temp around 40°C at full load.
well.... i suppose you reached some sort of temperature limit.... observe my Xp: 1930mhz and it wouldn't pass!!!... it reachs 48º and bang!! i open my room windows and let cool air enter, i went to 2050mhz just by having cool air around! with only 1.82vcore :D but more than 48º and Bang!... BSOD again...
Thanks for the welcome :)
Sorry I made you repeat yourself. I'd swear I read through the thread for the setup and temps, but I obviously did a pretty poor job.
Anyway, I think you're right, things will improve with these low speed TBredB chips. I'll just wait and see before I buy mine.
Hmm....
8-)
Do these xp1800 t'breds come factory unlocked?
If not do you just do the same procedure as on the 2400?
just for you guys who want more tbred b goodness this thread has some: http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...0&pagenumber=2
IIRC I saw a week 49 or 48 that was a 2600+, so I think those are the first few weeks of production. I am loving what I see, but as it was with the 1600+'s, I am gonna wait and see what the best stepping is. I got the same board, and a lovely 15C ambient temp waiting, so I am gonna pull the trigger as soon as they start advertising the nice steppings at newegg :D.Quote:

The ones to watch out for will be the mobile Tbred B's on ebay. They will most likely scream.
All of you may know this already. But i have come to a conclusion that all processor have been tested with it's stock speed at a certain voltage and temp. For example, the 2400+ in order to run it at 2gb at 1.65 and at the temp of 50c. I think the lower ones can also run at 2gb. But it needs more voltage and lower temp.
Let's take a 1800 tbred. In order to run it 2gb we may need 1.75, but we need a low temp in order to get to the speed. If failing to get the lower temp, we may need to up the voltage. Sometime giving higer voltage may not help eaither if the temp is on the high side.
So is not suprising if Jupiler not getting a high o/c result. Overclocking also need some luck. I guess all of you do agree with me on this point. Thank you for reading. This is just my 2 cents. Hopefully you understand what i am tryin to say. hehe.
My 1800+ Aiuga 0247 Tbred A did 2ghz with only 1.575v on my prometeia..
Or that chip sucks..or the stepping that you have isn't the best..
I were thinking like.. 2ghz @ stock voltage...minimum
One thing to note tho, this is JIUCB stepping, which means not only its propably a 2400+ that didn't make it its not even an ex-AIUGB or anything, propably just ex-AIUCB, we all know that the first batch of chips AMD produces are never THAT good and we should wait, I believe that if/when we get a hold of JIUGB or JIUHB and later weeks we'll see much higher speeds
yeh these initial oc results are no better the tbred a's they are to be replacing soon... they are def not underclocked 2400+. but then again the 1600+ was not a underclocked 2100+ until the last few months of the palomino (remember AGOIA was the steppin made for 2100+ and AROIA was the steppin made for 2200+)...
There's a thread in the overclocking w/ a guy w/ 1700+ Tbred B's btw :)
Yeah, we have xp1700 with t-bred b in finland too. I still think it's too early to draw conclusions on how well these will do. There are also t-bred a's that won't really go above 1.9ghz without pumping loads of voltage. Personally I think I'll finally get the watercooling I've been planning, and get a processor in a month or two.
No good news, not good at all actually. :(
Looks like the cpu has hit its limits.
It runs Prime and Folding fine at 2ghz, 1.75V but it doesn't seem to go any higher.
2050Mhz, 1.85V : Prime95 crashes and BSOD
2100Mhz, 1.95V : same thing.
This sucks badly.
Reminds me a little bit like the P4 C1 steppings. They go pretty high on default voltage but then it's over. Even increasing the voltage doesn't provide a better overclock.
As said, newer weeks and steppings might oc much better than this one.
This sound very much like newer tbred A's. So I guess we'll have to wait a little more
jupiler.... read my previous Post!...same happened to me, i just lowered the temps and he started to OC again with lower voltage!! he hit 1930mhz 1.65v at 50º, increasing voltage didn't help... but after cool air got into my room, i went to 2050mhz 1.82v 47º, at 48º it HAngs up! :)
I',m still intrested to hear how it does with water.
not bad for a bad stepping Tbred - B
Im sure there are better stepping Tbred A's out right now...
I mean my palamono 1600+ @ 1836 MHZ was still faster than many Tbred CPUs when they FIRST came out. I think Tbred B needs more time :) Still its keeping up with the more matured 1800+ Tbred A's or at least from his post...
