I remember your thread awhile back asking questions about this build before starting.
I like the layout looks very neat. And the compressor sizing looks sufficient for sure to pump all that refrigerant. As ya know ya gonna need a lot of methane and argon in those finial stages to handle load.

Cant wait to see ya start up the project again in the usa.

Oh F@#king MY.......Im speechless. I can't wait to see somthing like that fire up. 230V @ 12hp, thats a calculated 8800W. So a conservative estimate is 40amp service. No normal house service in the US will handle that. You would have to go to your pole service at the junction box and wire a special service for that on a normal 100amp home service, then hope the pole wiring is up to snuff...????

Imagine the day that -110 cascades will be the regular inthing for overclockers. Just the same way right now water cooling as single stages are, thats when it starts getting really interesting. Advancements in technology = better cooling :)

Homes with an electric range will have a 50 A 220V 60 hz circuit right in the kitchen.. That should do it...

R50 and Argon are a beast to condense, I have a pile of compressors to attest to that.
Getting an intermediate refrigerant with a little capacity, using R50 means that you will need 5 times the flow rate for teh csame capacity as R507 so the last stage compressor will need ot be 3 to 4 times the displacment as the previous stage for it to be effecient. The rotary might do it though.. Nice job can't wait to see teh results.

you will require R14 to condense R50

to insulate the hx'es and not to have large heat loads you need vacuum insulation

im alrady after all the maths... the only thing wich stopped my 5 stage, -180C cascade was the lack of R1150 and R14

well by the time this ever would come around extreme cooling will be obsolete. The way technology is going now all these systmes won't be needed to give higher performance, in gaming anyway.we wouldn't notice the difference wether our Unreal 5 engine is at 150fps or 200fps. overclocking will be finished bwuhahahaha :hehe:
this is my just prophetic look into the future anyway :p: we'll be lookin back sayn to our gradchildren, when i was your age kiddo i had a 100lb machine cool'n my cpu down to -100c!!

EDIT, on the othere hand maybe these will be standard with all future vid cards (ati x40000xts/nvidea10000ultras)i n order to play games on say unreal 5 :confused:

Is such a case with cars? Lot of high performance cars now a day would be what was called super modified cars back than. It doesn't stop people from modifiying their cars. It has never been a need issue on overclocking really, it always was want.

yea but there is still a large margin for upping performance in cars. the offordable average car is constantly improving with time and maybe 20 years we'll have an affordable car that performs like todays farrari's. Is there a cap for how much a car can advance? i don't know maybe they'll soon be able to fly and then there will be a whole new standard for performance. This analogy doesnt make my point at all. im saying were gonna reach that performance cap for cpu/gpu's in say 10-20 years(im saying for sure by 10 but lets just say 10-20), making these coolers obsolete. whats next, virtual reality? still makes thes things obsolete. ya get it? ;) i say we'll be looking back on these contraptions in the near/not so near future saying "those were the days, -100c coolers lol." you'll see. as for now tho, this is the coolest hobby ive ever had! (pun not intended) :toast:

theres no margin for running systems so ludicrously overclocked nowadays anyways... you won't notice the difference between 75 and 100 FPS in HL2 anyways. It's allllll about the e-penis.
What WILL make all this obsolete is extremely efficient transistor technologies or non-electrical transistors, either of which could drastically lower or eliminate heatdumps from CPUs.
Other than that... CPU speed will always be increasing. I bet in 1995 people thought their stuff was blazingly fast and anything faster was just silly... well, that was 10 years ago, and that stuff is like a dinosaur.

well im asuming these extreme cooling solutions are applied almost purely for gaming right? which is to get higher fps which is to give better playable graphics. im talking we get "graphics" from future technology that cant get any better. that look so real you cant get them any more "real." whats the point of a faster rig then? do we not see the advancing graphic era comming to an end? i think so. the point of pretty graphics are to give us a beter life-like experience right, well when these graphics become so good that they don't look any different from life itself, why by a faster card that will give you the exact same looking graphics? why supercool your computer? huh? huh? :stick:

look at what graphix were like 15 years ago. remember pong? how about comparing that to hl2 etc. now lets look 15 years from now and say hl2 is our pong, what will those present yr2020 graphix be like if hl2 is ugly a$$ pong?

Sneil, what I've seen over last 24 years is that, you don't try to predcit impending doom of need for performance. Gaming isn't needed. It's what is wanted. You don't need great graphics of current games. You would be fine with 20 years ago graphics if you can enjoy it. I will repeat it. It is not need that is driving the industry now. It is the want. You will want better graphics, better sound, better AI, as time goes on. (just from perspective of gaming) How much time does it take to render those special effect on linked server system now a day? or PiXar films? Even that might not be appealing in 5 years and arcane to our view by than. I've gone through about 7 times of very popular columists declaring doom of CPU speed or no more need for speed by now. I didn't see it happening, nor do I see more happening.
Maybe we will eventually hit this nervana like stage where we aren't wasting any energy in processor. However, we haven't hit anything radically different than transistor yet. Even nano technolgy they talk about is still in essence transistor based.

About insultating HX, I really don't believe using vaccum is necessary : H2O vapor condensing don't happen anymore because there is no air renew inside. After that the only heat loss here is about the exchange between the HX and the air (passive convection here), air temperature is so going dowm for a few while and after (even before...) that, the loss are very very small. I really think this loss is very smaller than what ever loss using something to insulate that HX. But, you're right for sure using vaccum would reduce that loss again.
