indeed..... especially if you find one that will go over 600 on the core. Many of them have trouble breaking 540.

When unlocked, OS shows them like X850 Series, so at OS eyes, that's a X850, not a x800GTO ( which shows locked ).

OK, I just bit on this one. Too tempting to sell my X800 XL and pick up an X850 XT for around $35.

I'll be slapping a Maze4 on the core. Should I pick up a few BGA sinks for the RAM, or does the GDDR3 run cool enough already with a fan blowing over the chips?

So after the mod does the GTO2 show any artefacts in 3D apps besides the ATITool tester ?

Does anybody know reports of people not being able to unlock the pipes or the unlocked ones being defective ?

I've only heard of one card so far that was defective from the factory.

This morning the X800 GTO² was 199.00 at newegg, this afternoon it went to 299.00. I sent them a less than cordial email and now it has been removed entirely.
