At bjorn3d they have overclock results... :fact:
"Engine clock = 864 MHz (programmed the core voltage regulator with a value of "a". I tried increasing the voltage more by going to "9" and the board immediately dies…is it supposed to do that????)
Memory clock = 990 MHz (programmed regulator for MVDDC and MVDDQ to "bf") "
I'm guessing they almost got 2 Ghz on the card's ram then?
And yes Cooper, I do. 24" of CRT :D
It was actually 940MHz memory....someone made boo-boo doing division.
That's still crazily high...
that 864 was on LN2, though. I was hoping for more. Although I'm sure once the cards become available, we'll see one hit up much closer to 1Ghz. :)

ATI RADEON X1800 XT and XL Performance: Crushing NVIDIA's 7800?
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...eon-x1800.html
and I quote
"Overall Summary of Performance:
Well, it appears that the Radeon X1800 XL is not the GeForce 7800 GT killer everyone was hoping it would be. It seems that the cards trade blows back and forth depending on the game. In some games, the X1800 XL is faster; in other games, the GeForce 7800 GT is faster. We were hoping for a larger performance difference but we just didn’t find it. The Radeon X1800 XL is a very competitive video card to the GeForce 7800 GT, but it in no way “blows it out of the water” in current games.
The Radeon X1600 XT does a little better though. We did see some blows being traded back and forth between the Radeon X1600 XT and the GeForce 6800, but, for the most part, the card shined in the newer games like Battlefield 2 and F.E.A.R. If this is an indication of its performance in future titles, it could be a good thing for ATI, as long as NVIDIA doesn’t counter with a GeForce 7 series product for the same price. Up against the GeForce 6 series, the Radeon X1600 XT performs very well."
notice the x1800xl costs $450 and the 7800GT costs as low as $350...
this doesn't look good for ATi...

prices aren't too high considering its a brand new card even if its out late.
new ati drivers bump speeds slightly which should equal out the tests where Nvidia always wins like Doom
either way nice to see Video cards moving again in the right direction
That's OEM versus retailbox though Iboomalot...
Actually, I'm shocked that a retail box would cost that much less than an OEM product! :nono:
ooops missed the OEM part

"As of the date of this writing, the only card you can actually buy is the X1800 XL. We have word from ATI that the X1300 cards have shipped to distributors some time ago, which should be appearing on the shelves and online stores any day now. With new drivers in hand, it's time to take a look at ATI's new low-end card."

ATI using Ultra Quality 8XAFQuote:
With that said, we did find both video cards to be playable at 1600x1200 with 2XAA enabled. In High Quality mode 4X AF is enabled and in Ultra Quality mode 8X AF is enabled by default. Therefore, our highest playable settings in Quake 4 were 1600x1200 2X AA and 4X AF on the BFGTech GeForce 7800 GTX OC and 1600x1200 2X AA and 8X AF on the ATI Radeon X1800 XT. Looking at the graph, you can see that the performance is different . Overall, the BFGTech GeForce 7800 GTX is pulling in faster frame rates. This is especially noticeable in the minimum frame rate, which has a difference of 9 frames per second (FPS). There is a period in the middle of the game where the Radeon X1800 XT performance hovers around the mid 30 FPS mark, while the BFGTech GeForce 7800 GTX OC is hovering around the 45-50 FPS mark, which is a very noticeable difference during game play.

Is this how to do a review btw 2 cards ?
