Where can I get one?
Wow... crazy! Is there anywhere to purchase these in the states yet?
Yep, thats not working. Must be -18°C :p:Quote:

The Opty's OC like crazy, always have the problem is good clocking 940 pin mobos.... Find one ... I have these 875's and I know darn well they clock easily but the board is limited in EVERYTHING you need to OC a chip...rock solid stable though and it does let you OC a bit on the board...
It's good to see these guys breaking the 1 series chips out and possibly showing that the Opty's are in fact binned differently.
Sorry for my bad english, but what the **** is ac? :)
Air Conditioning
Edit: removed link because I'm stupid :)
Argh... Thx, already get it....
How low an regular ac can cool down the air? 10°C?
It also works on Soltek, Biostar and basically every mobo that's using the Winbond ITE monitoring chip.Quote:

i knew them Japanese will kick some arse with these sooner or later
Daammnnnn nice results man.
Thanks Maiko and Eiji. Nice results, as usual.
did you start that thread....These CPUs are looking real nice :banana:Quote:

Now... the question is, is the best silicon the FX series or Opterons?
I would probably go with FX...
Ok, but the important question, where I can get them. I want at least 2 or 3 :D
YES that's what matters :DQuote:

Keeps the chipset cooler/more stable than 16-bit/16-bit. Just like droping the HTT/LDT multiplier. For really high external clocks without very good chipset cooling this can help. Atleast thats my experience.Quote:

LOL
I am simply amazed, congrats to all @Team Japan :toast:
If the 165's clock anything like this I would even consider swapping my beloved 3800 X2 :)
iv been reduced to a little child.......
I WANT ONE I WANT ONE I WANT ONE :slobber:
Thank you all :toast:
Comment from maiko
S939 Opteron seems has an excellent tolerance at CPU rated voltage.
On the other hand, I found that any higher Vcore would hardly any help to get higher clockspeed.
I am not sure what characteristics they would show under extreme cooling as am not into such cooling.
I was so excited that my initial hunch was right-- they could be awesome because the first batch of 144 & 146 to Japan had the same excellent core stepping (i.e. 0530APMW) as FX-57.
It is unfortunate that they are now hard to get as just a few of them were initially distributed in Japan – probably all distribution channels were scare how well they could sell???
BTW, you may take a look at my blog for more information and results—sorry all in Japanese though.
I was so lucky to score 144 as well but it is maxed out HTT350MHz (about 3.15G) atm.
It is difficult for me to judge whether it is due to CPU or M/B.
Anyway, I am looking forward to try 144/146 again with the coming DFI LP SLI-DR Expert :D
Well you can tell him we can't wait to see his, and the rest of your team's, results as well.
Woah.....And we're talking about air cooling....I just want one.....
Question : Are these opterons good at gaming ? Because we're mainly talking about a 200$ FX-57 here....
