Well Ive got 2x1024 so I'm just pretty screwed then I guess. I've gotten prime stable up to 270 with mem on 166 divider. Didn't try higher because thats as high as I plan to take my chip (3200+ e6, 2600@1.55, 2700@1.7)

Well not "screwed" since it was free. :)
This board just strikes me as a budget gaming board not a bencher. As a starting point for a budget game rig, this combo is still a killer. Although I don't know why they didn't use the non-SLI version of the mobo to package with the card since its unlikely many budget rigs will sport two video cards. Along with that budget game rig most would opt for as much memory as possible, rather than high speed premium memory, so not being able to run 1:1 on an OC might be a moot point for the budget gamer, if they care to OC at all.
I'm going to take my old 6800GT pair and team them with one of these mobos. I'll save my pair of 7800GTs for the one my DFIs until the revised DFI NF4 comes out.
I'd suggest you wait until the new DFI SLI mobo comes out rather than buying an Ultra-D that might not mod, or the old DFI SLI. In the meantime keep thrashing around on the EVGA. Maybe its only a bios mod away from 250+ HTT 1:1 with 2x1gig. :D
I'm working right now on getting 166 divider to run 314HTT. I should bust out the other mobo, but I'm sure there won't be much difference. On Monday its time for some Opty action. :woot:
Thought I should try out my Patriot 2x1gig set to see if the 250HTT problem got worse as memory size increased. It doesn't seem to be a problem. My 2gig set actually beat my TCCD 2x512mb set in SuperPi. Might have been the trfc adjustment I made. Previously I had just left it at its default setting.

Man, this deal needs to come back =(
Hey Gundamnit, did you get your opty and put it in the eVGA mobo? I am getting a Opty 165 and will try it out on my eVGA once Newegg rma's it back to me. (Dead PCI-E slot).
Yes. I did and put on single phase as well just to test it out. I tried my 148 CABYE 0528 and it ran but nothing special as far as OC. Well under the DFI. Post your results in the stickied Opty dual core thread please. Bottom line for the EVGA - Actual memory speed can not exceed 250 so you'll have to run a divider, and HTT is crapping out at about 314 although YMMV. That should give you enough to get what looks like an average OC for DC Opties - but I'm guessing the EVGA will be a step or two behind the DFI.Quote:

I hope eVGA steps up the bios and makes this board more overclockable.
The eVGA deal is back at the egg. Yestersay it was $359, today it is $379, but that's still $80 cheaper than it was when it 1st came out a couple mo's ago. Sale ends tommoro :/
eVGA 256-P2-N518 Geforce 7800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $379
eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail - Free
Now just $349 and register your card with eVGA and get Quake 4.Quote:

i got the very first time they offered the combo, i have 2 x 1gb gskill cas2,3,2,5,1T ram in mine running cas3,4,4,8,2T 250fsb 1:1 set at 249 but says 250 in cpu-z and everother program, so i guess it is off by one in the bios.
i have a opty 148 cabye at 11 x 250 for 2.75ghz , prime stable for 16 hours.
i habe tried tons of different ram, and no 1gb sticks will go over 250, 512mb usuallu will do alittle better, and 256mb stick seem to no problems at all, like anybody uses 2 x 256mb anymore.
i have not ried tighter timings, but 2t is mandatory with 2 x 1gb, i have booted with 1t 200fsb, but it fails prime in less than a hour, test have shown 2 x 1gb is only good for 1t up to about 187fbs max, which sucks.
all these weird problems really don't hurt the performance very much, ram bandwidth differenc is huge, like 1000 to 1500 with 2t, but 3d mark 05 only goes down like 7 points, 03 only like 125 points, and 01 has a significant drop of like 5%, so this will have little effect on gameing performance.
I missed it..... COME BACK!!!!! :(
what are you talking about? they still have the combo deal, but it's back up to $379...Quote:

Also, please note that this is the model 256-P2-N518 which has speeds of 445/1070 out of the box.
the 256-P2-N517 does 470/1100 out of the box, but doesnt give you the combo deal.
