from the cpuz specs it looks like its just a normal es nocona. all of them up to 3.73 read as 6.0ghz, dempseys do also.
being that its an s478 thats very interesting :)
I'd like to see what this CPU can do....not pics of it damnit! :D
Anyway, I recommend selling it to BB, he can tell us what's up with it and you can get a fat wallet.
Update... I snaped some pics of the front and back of the CPU with my friend digi cam and it actually is pretty clear. My PC is almost back up and running so Ill get pics of the bios pretty soon.
I remember that some of the software IDs said its a 423pin.
There was one that actually gave it the correct socket type 478 I'll find it later.
Neways...back to my problem. Does anyone know of a board that I can use to run this? From what i've heard, the 875 gigabyte boards can run these chips, but arent they the slowest 875 boards on the block?
BB mod,
If you are really interested in this, I'll be more than glad to sell it to you.
At least you can really push this chip further than I ever could
Get me another northy..with some change in my pocket. :D
Haha, that thing looks beat to hell (or maybe it's just a bad picture). The IHS looks all bent up. Congrats though, you have the most unique processor I've ever seen :0Quote:

Oh Dayam....4mb of L3 Cache!!!
Now what kinda CPU is this
That's WICKED slow cache though!!!! IIRC, the Gallatin's had L3 as fast as an Irwindale's L2.
Seems like you got an interesting prototype revision to this: http://techreport.com/onearticle.x/6364.

wow, very interesting ...do you know who this guy was where you got it from? where did he get it from?
if it is a XEON EE 4mb Prototype that'd be cool ...these things r damn expensive
:eek:Quote:
the 3GHz model lists for the low, low price of $3,692
I need to see some benchs to believe in the extra cache . But the 60x multi is there for sure .Quote:

holy ******************* that l3 puts my l2 to shame and depression :( DON'T SELL THAT CHIP UNLESS YOU GET A CRAP LOAD OF MONEY lol
Makes me wander what other CPU's they make in labs   .
Erm, could you try that uber beast @ 60 multi x 50Mhz FSB?
And benchmarks, benchmarks of course! SiSandra, ScienceMark, PCMark.
Damn, if you could lounch it at 16Ghz, SuperPI 1MB @ 1s :D  .
did you se that default stuff 4x multi with a 375 fsb, lol try to pul off a 375 fsb :)
SELL IT S-E-L-L I-T NOW!!! (to BB of course :p: )
im dying to have BB give us the heads up on what that thing is all about
Lol, just came in my mind... FSB200 x 60 multi = 12000Mhz STOCK :D...
Nice CPU :) If you yourself have no particular need or interest in such a rarity, sell it or lend it to BB Mod's, I guess they would take it for a spin.
On the other hand, if you do have a 4mb EE xeon, then the $3.698 is a rather interesting value point :D
That is the price without the 60x multi :DQuote:
