yeah people, was also looking for buying one of these, but thanks got changed mind on WD2 one ;) maybe nV will give us an option to run card on sli mode even on 955x chipsets. (it's possible afaik, but not a time for this, let wait r520 so nV will start to show miracles of drivers buildin' :) ) and I'm still sittin' on a P5WD2 with my 7800gtx
At Frys, there is a stack of P4ND2's on the shelf with return stickers on them :stick:
I htought the P5WD2 can ALREADY run "pseudo SLI" with near-SLI performance levels!!!Quote:

Hmm.. if it suddenly drops quick, it may be throttling.Quote:

I didn't even realize Intel SLI mobos were out :p:
I wouldn't be expecting much help from Nvidia for a while...

Yeah I read the story at The Inquirer as well, thinking...it figures
so people tell me clearly - any chance I can run two GTX on my WD2 with atleast 75% of performace from same setup on ND2-SLI? LarsK I see you are running two GTXs on P5WD2, what version of drivers you are using, and do you have any problems with pseudo-SLI setup like this? 10x :)
Good to se XS is back up :toast:Quote:

SLI will work on the Asus P5WD2, the real question is if Nvidia will let it. Given the very poor performance in many apps on the nforce 4 intel Ed I find it hard to believe that performance on the P5WD2 would not at least match that of the Nforce 4 Intel Ed chipset in most appps.
However, what I do is run with 2x 7800GTX in single card mode, currently one monitor on each card. Thus I can play any game I want at maximum resolution on one monitor, while watching tv (through my Hauppage pci tv-tuner) and being on msn etc on the other monitor, completely lag free. This cannot be done with just one videocard, I know because I tried it :p:
So I'm not really running in SLI mode on my P5WD2 atm. and actually after doing it for a while on the NI8, I much prefer my setup on the P5WD2. Most games run much better with a 5 Ghz P4 and a single 7800GTX than they do with a 4 Ghz P4 and 2x 7800GTX in SLI. Only 3dmark03 seems to benefit anything from SLI on the NF4 Intel chipset. And I don't play that very often.... ;)
Currentally there is no SLI support on the i955X. However ATi claims Xfire will work which will pressure nV to support it. So yea, it will eventually but definatly not now.Quote:

Wee now I can run @ 240 Mhz fsb..... i.e. I'm up another 5 Mhz fsb and only 46 Mhz fsb (~820 Mhz cpu speed) short of my max speed with the default 18x multiplier on the Asus P5WD2  :D Actually I can also adjust Vmem, Vcore and timings a little without loosing SLI performance completely... :woot:

to add insult to injury i decided since i cant overclock this hot ass piece of :banana::banana::banana: i mind as well ram it up! so i bought 4 1gb 666 OCZ gold (3-3-3-8) sticks of ram. installed and booted for the first itme just fine then i go to load up battlefield2 and once i join a game i here the beep of my psu as my system turns off.. !!! i get :cussing::cussing::cussing: then i go into bios and upp the vdimm to 1.9 ...then to 2.0... then when windows starts to load now i here the beep of my psu as the system turns off.. i get even more :cussing::cussing::cussing: so then i say :censored: it!! and rip out the ram and install my old 512x2 666ocz gold (3-3-3-8) and same problem!!! so then im thinking :cussing::cussing: :banana::banana::banana: i better clear the bios. then i get the same thing!!!! so now i cant even boot to windows, not even safe mode, without this hunk of :censored:in' crap turning off, i set the "old" 1gb sticks back in, but this time only 2 (in the yellow slots), same thing just turns off...so im sitting back and trying not to :frag: my mobo so i call asus for some :help: they pritty much tell me to :censored: off !! im thinking WHAT THE :censored:! so now i got this relly shiny useless POS sitting next to my desk i use to warm up my room!! (2 7800gtx's a 670 and a nf4IE makes alot of heat!!) what should i do besides :caution: the mobo or even better asus the :banana::banana::banana:tyest company ever. there stuff rocks when it works once u need help, buy a new one!
help guys! (p.s. i was looking for the new 16x pci-e x2 mobos and all the companies say there sli-ie mobos are 16x2 ??? whats the real deal when r they going to be out for intel?
Hi guy!
Anyone of you can tell me where i can take the 0605 bios for my p5nd2 deluxe??? (if you can pls mail it to me at uomoazione@hotmail.com
This motherboard make me mad, it's insane instability!
Thx for your help!!!
Geez this sounds like a fun board :bsod:
@ZEROKOOL:
If you want support from Asus, register you mainboard first on the website.
And ask a question.
Then you get a fast reply. ( My experience :) )
And wich revision you use ?
I was thinking to buy one, but after reading this topic ......R.I.P. ;)
But the weird thing is, that almost every Review site says: :woot: great mainboard.
Hothardware: 9 out 10
Legionhardware 9 out 10
PC Perspective Gold Award
btw: You can use modbin6 2.0 to mod the bios.
I have tried with bios: 0802 ;)
The specs. of the: Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe mainboard is also online. :D

latest news - P5N32-SLi is commin' retail on october 17th and some resellerd will get it on 14th. I'm going to try my luck and order it right now. Hope Asus and nvidia fixed a lot of bugs of previous mobo/NB.
Whats the bet P5N32-Sli is still a piece of crap, only conclusion you can draw from this thread so far...
Intel chipsets + Asus mobo = Maximum stability and great overclocking
Nvidia chipsets + Asus mobo = so so overclocking and risky stability
you must be joking. do you remember first nvidia chipset (nforce 1) it was so horrible. and second one - nforce2 was a real o/c star. so I think it's not a fault of asus - it's their first try with new chipset. and for nvidia it's a first try for intel cpus(like nforce1 was for amd) I think this new revision will be more stable, of course it will not take the same glory as nforce2 but it gonna give us at least bugfixes...Quote:

And ASUS - they rock ;)
Your quoting me out of reference to the rest of my post. :(Quote:

yeah, thats because they run fine at stock, and those review sites dont do :banana::banana::banana: for OCin, or if they do, they are retards and only get to like 215 FSB. As for enthusiests, which is what youd assume the majority of SLI capable boards would be, they suck balls. :slapass:Quote:
