Ah, crud, that's about how much I paid for my San Diego 3700+!!!! :(

Does anybody want to buy a ***** that is guaranteed to reach *****? Cheap? I'm thinking the moment the Zalman CNPS-9500 comes out, if it performs as Zalman claims ("better than watercooling") there is NO way I will be able to resist getting dual-core with 9500 and OCing it until it's as fast as my current single-core CPU.

At $345 I'm starting to warm up to the idea of an X2 replacing my P4 rig. Maybe in an extremely versitile "go anywhere do anything" (reasonably well) SFF type rig. Oh waitaminute ... I'm suppose to be saving up for a pair of 7800 cards. Nevermind. :rolleyes:

There has been a lot of speculation in X2 reviews about lower-end X2 processors, but this seems to be the first "mainstream" press acknowledgment of it. The price point is definitely good, and I'll be at ZZF with card in hand come August 1st. :-)

Yesterday I made 2 configs. 1) I finalized my 3700+ SD plan and then 2) I built an alternative Pentium D 3.0 GHz plan because it was a cheap dualie. I wanted a 4400+, but that was TWICE the cost of a 3700+ so I settled with a slower P-D. Now?? OMG throw both of them out 3800+ here I come.

4000+ could possibly be around 400 or so to bridge the gaps AMD leaves when they intro the 3800x2

Umm, I seem to have gotten a lot of interest in my *****. I should be a bit more clear: I'm not rushing to sell it now. I need a CPU to use until the X2 3800+ and the Zalman 9500 are actually available. It won't be appearing on Ebay anytime soon judging from the fact that Zalman hasn't even set a date for the 9500 to be released yet.

Yes.

2 x 2000Mhz = 4000 for 1MB L2.
2 x 2000Mhz = 4000 - 200 = 3800 for 0.5MB L2

Half the cache 200 is removed from the model number.

What's ironic about this bit of mindless modding is that I WASN'T trying to sell my hardware. In fact the second post was me saying I WASN'T going to sell it so please stop emailing and messaging me. I guess that was kind of lost in translation or something. Maybe I should speak less grammatically correct English. :rolleyes:

Nice.. I'm gonna buy an X2 rig as well.. the whole project kinda overshoots my budget :D not sure if i'd got for the 3800 though.. I REALLY want that 1MB cache per core. So if there's no 4000+ it'll be a 4400+.. just waiting for that Zalman 9500 to become available now... hurry up zalman!!!
