update:
was not driver issue prohibiting 3d, was a bios ram timing, one of the latter ones in DFI, set it to auto and all seems well.

Well that is till I got 4x512mb installed(mixed pc4000&3200), while 3d is stable at 255 I can't get a 4x512mb@255 32m super PI with this setup, at least not yet, have to fiddle more with timings.

See the 2x1GB at looser timings does take a hit, it's not that big compared to the 4x512mb redline in 3D/tight timings.

Redline still faster in 3D, at least in limited testing. Would u see it in real life? Probably not, difference are getting smaller. Heck check out the little difference between 2x512mb/1T and 4x512mb Redline at 2T, hardly anything. Like stated prior, for benchers and MOST users, the Redline is the way to go, IF you have the board, and knowledge to use them.
However, this stuff isn't shabby at all and it's running at 2.9v so that's nothing out of the ordinary of alot of boards.

I'll try more to get 255 32M stable on 4x512mb Redline. Be a better comparison for us :)

My Ballistix does 260 3-3-3-8 at 2.6V, which is much nicer in a lot of respects than 4x512 at 3.4V. For 2GB benching, 4xRedline might turn out to be the best but for day-to-day stuff, Ballistix is ubeatable, IMO.

Odd thing is, voltage does nothing for my Ballistix and I don't have the slightest clue how to tweak them yet (was just playing around, now system is on the sidelines for a few days for other reasons) to make things even better. I have little doubt that Ballistix (and what you have) can go tighter than 3-3-3-x, it'll just take a lot of experimenting.

Anyway, very good comparison! How about some 2x512 Redline at 2T to show how much bank interleave is doing at 4x512?

I only tried going up to 2.8V and figured it wasn't about to do anything any higher....good to know that yours does though!! I'll get another shot at my system next week.

A thought, but there should be a thread for 2GB OCing database, no? It would certainly help people out (including myself...I think there's some timing or two that's seriously messing things up).

i'm sorta on it, but not here:

Yeah, I know, you're cf (the only guy that anybody will listen to about A64 info)...I'm a member there (Ether; Vapor was taken :mad: ), don't care for it too much for the reasons you just listed. Agreed that someone should start a thread here or in the AMD section...I'm sure it'd be alright if you or JNav did it (only if either of you wanted to do it of course).

Never actually participated in a database here, you want PM I'm guessing? Also, if we manage to change our results, it could be updated, right?

Give me your timings, overall mhz, volts, and a verified link from cpu-z to put with your name. Oh and of course don't forget to include the amount, brand, and type of ram. PM will do fine. :)

may i suggest something similar to what i have set up? that being my 3rd database now, i've learned that making things too complicated (pictures, PM's, ect) makes thing too hard. haha

also, if you make one here, want to collaborate, collect and report data from both forums? (this would probably benefit me most though :p: )

Alright, it'll be awhile as I only have one PSU right now for two systems and my second is coming Tuesday. I had my fun benching yesterday but didn't make a verified CPU-Z link. :( I'm just too lazy to dewire and then rewire this computer again. Anyway, if you can take my word for it....3-3-3-8, 2.6v, 260, amount is the point of this database, so I'll leave this blank, Crucial Ballistix (5B D supposedly), 2x1GB.

I kinda like the way I have it planned, yours looks more complicated and more dissoriented in my opinion. No offense. I wouldn't mind collaborating with data though. I want atleast a results or two before I go ahead and make the topic.

I have 4x512 of OCZ Plat 3200 Rev2 and now 2x1gb of Crucial Ballistix PC4000.

The 4x512 were a little difficult to get running properly so for me I much prefer the 2x1gb kit :)

currently running at 260x11=2860mhz, 2.8vDimm, 3-3-3-8, 1T, everything set to defualt atm.

I still need to work out all the mem settings as Im sure this stuff is capable of plenty more :) (if I knew what settings to use).

what about mixing OCZ´s 2x512 4800 and 2x512 5000 (same chips) to try getting them to 280-290 FSB ¿? will they only do it 2T? :confused:

1T would be nice up to 280 for me :slobber:

I think the only problem looking at 4x512mb of TCCD would be it would be slower than UTT with tight timings at 250 or so. You'd need TCCD >300 for sure(I believe) to = Redline at tight

no I never got them stable at 4x512mb at 255
tbh I have 2 beta stix and 2 retail and they are diff pcb :O
so that might account for differences
each set can run 265+ but combined they faulter a bit.

I'm pretty excited about these dimms here as they are so EASY to work with.

UTT is a great IC, but a bitter learning curve.

Sooo... when are we gonna find out what we are talking about? When you post a madshrimps review sometime? Almost post 50 we dont know what we are looking at. Looks like more people are putting out Micron chips.

Anyone know what chips the Twinmos 1GB sticks are using? They are selling them here in Greece at a Greek online shop but they are out of stock ATM. I think their price was about 125 euros a stick

sorry EMC2, couldn't get the mixed redline to behave. Gonna swap some ram around and pair up either 4xpc3500 redline I had running in my daily CS rig :). or see if I can borrow a friends kit of PC4000 redline to pair with my PC4000 redline :) and I think it would work then. I think the PC3200's don't like the trp at 2 past 250 or so on my set. They can bench 3d but for some reason flake out in Super Pi, at least in the config I was running with the 4000's. That's my theory anyway.

Also, for the 4x1gb benches. Those will have to wait until I can iron out bios issues with running that much mem. DFI is a love hate relationship for me :stick:
