Nice OPB, and good to see that there is a bios that will disable the cold-bug. Maybe it would be worth looking into the bios & driver, and seeing if I can help towards finding the problem.
now im quite sure that the 35c bug is a driver issue than a bios issue :DQuote:

There's some crazy :banana::banana::banana: going on...so what's the consensus now? No BIOS fix is needed but a new driver is? How did Shamino and OPP do it then?
Anybody try 77.50s?
'Bios' connection? ;)Quote:

If so, what were your before and after clocks?
I will test this BIOS with my Leadtek tonight when I get home from work.
so basically until this is fixed i cant use my water with my card? i dont know if it will take it below that so ill have to see
1.5v mod doesn't seem to be working.
I can hit the exact same core clocks with my original BIOS as with this modded one. I would expect it to be slightly higher with a 0.1v increase. My 6800 Ultra gave me an extra 30MHz on the core with a 1.5v mod.
Can't confirm the cold bug issue as my computer room is so damn hot my WC rig never gets below 35 degrees.
ill confirm this as soon as i got the card :)Quote:

Onother way which could work is that you will need to make bios that start from your max bench speed. That has also worked on removing throtling on 6800's :fact: and increased the score by 300+ marks :fact: . So if you are having the problems after 530 core make bios that start @ 550 and flash the card with them. Then it would not have a lower treshold to trotle to . 550 would be min speed. Realy only people with phase or other extreeme cooling should try this. Then you just figure out what is your max bench settings and make bios that start from that speed.
Victor why dont you make same bios that start from 550 core and let OPB or other members try it . It should fix the performance drop issue. It's a chance it will work why not take it. You can always reflash back if there is a problem
Very good points/ideas railer...
As for making the custom BIOS, the new NiBiTor does it, right? I might try it out on my own.
i think OPB just have watercooling, not phase change, so 550 may be a little higher, too risky IMOQuote:

no this is not modde by NibitorQuote:

Many many thanks Victorshen! This bios really rocks!
oi the bios is coming
the pack include 4 bios
1. 2D=3D=500/1400 1.5v for all, both with and without monitoring
2. 2D=275 but still 1.5v 3D=500 1400 1.5v both with and without monitoring
also, b4 flashing
plz overclock to 500 1400 and take what score you get in mark05
then flash it, see is there any improvements :D
ah.. one last thing, make sure your card can do it b4 flashing especially the ram :D
I just checked your bios-es with the new 2.2 NiBiTor. I'm really aware of the problem because my 7800 GTX gonna arrive on Monday (I hope so :D ). I'll install my Innovatek block on it so I need some solution until then ;)
You can set the throttle frequency in NiBiTor 2.2.
I think setting the throttle speed to the same as the 3D speed in the bios is one way of solving the problem.
Thanks man, gonna try it right after work.Quote:

here is two latest bios
as Harry told me that with 1.5v bios he got 4Mhz less in o/c
the new bios come with 1.4v
changes includes
no performance table--no 3D 2D freq anymore
no thermal monitoring (core and environment)
so you shouldnt see any temp anymore
other difference between the 2 bios is one running@ 470 1300 while the other 500 1400
i recommend the 1st one.
:)

thanks Victor, i'll try it on my Gigabyte 7800GTX
here is the result : http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=982004 = 9096.. you're rock victor :toast:
Those aren't the real clocks, are they? 2900MHz and 540/1404 only gets 9100?? That seems more like a score from 500/1400.
