Can't wait to see what the Ultra can do (if they ever release it :slapass: ). It would be a great counter for the R520. Release a card before ATI, make money offa that, then release another card that is as good as the R520, and then make even more money offa that  .

Is the power consumption just the card or the whole system? 169w= 14a on +12v and 291w= 24a i cant imagine just the cards using that much power.
edit: are you sure perkam?
Hey is it just me or did anyone notice that it's being tested with an AMD64 FX-57??
Not bad scores by the way... Maybe gain a bit more with more mature drivers...
Some more info on the rest of the system specs would be nice...
BTW, nVidia do know how to make a darn big PCB don't they??
Cheers,
Minnyboy
holy crap, nice scores. what are the temps idle and load???
How is it possible for a card that can draw a maximum of 75W through the MB and another 75W through the 6-pin draw 169W total?Quote:

It's the latter. Look at the pics: the systems power cord is plugged into the meter. It is 169W at idle, and 291W at load.
Does anyone else think that at this rate, Nvidia are going to turn into intel with a "bigger is better" attitude?
Every card that comes out is hotter, drains more power and has a larger PCB. They cant do this forever, something has got to give at some point.
I want to know what the temps are for those cards, and now i want to see what ATI are going to bring to the party.

Sadly ATI's card isn't coming out till like november or something according to what I've heard around the forums :(

Looks like these guys accidentally put it up, then looks like they "discontinued" it.

Good Retailer. Anyways, I think a reasonable launch time to net shops just may be inline!
:woot:
I just checked and it's still in stock.
that is alot of money
Guys see this already?
pdf of data sheet on EVGA 7800GTX http://www.mwave.com/mwave/specHR/pdf/AA35630.pdf
is it just me, or does that picture art on the heatsink look photoshopped? also notice the typo of nVIIDA.Quote:

Yeah, it's in some other thread in the GFX cards section. And that mwave site, that is crazy overpriced right there, btw, it's not discontinued. It's in stock, I checked it in the other thread that I was talking about (they had both links) and it was in stock, and it's still in stock when I checked it right now. Seeing prices like this makes me think that the 6800 Ultra is actually nicely priced :eek:Quote:

Great point Mathias. 9K on a card with standard cooling is awesome, and under phase or LN2 it will totally kick ass.
