So, now what AMD benchers would need is a FX-57 that will do 3.7-3.8GHz on Dry Ice. That, coupled with vc clocks in 850/700 area take back what it lost in single GPU area on the ORB :D
If you ask me, it's going to be tough case to break... ;)

How cold can Dothan get? Is there a good desktop mobo for Dothan capable of high fsb? Also if Dothan is locked youll be stuck at that multiplier and high fsb will be much harder :( also we dont know how well the fx57 will do, maybe itll be better as in very high clocks? :cool:

This is an insane thread. Theres at least about 5-6 guys here going to go out and buy a dothan,, LN2, the adapter, and everything else. Soon, you guys will be going for 50k. This is going to be an insane summer (or winter, depending on where u are from). BTW, nice job Kingpin.

kingpin's CPU is only a "decent" clocker... TAM and memesama have 3900mHz stable at superPi 1M...

so for a moment imagine kingpin @ 3750mHz!!!

yea, the dothans are just amazing. And think, theres probably at least a hundred or so in notebooks that have sooo much potential, but are just running their stock 1400mhz. :(

i have one :) its at 1800mhz and amazes me, the fan wont be always on with 25ºC ambient with f@h 24/7 this cpus are really good at stock, the nicer part is that almost any one can buy one and because of the low price (not the same in fx series).

go get some more ln2 awsome runs, try a x800pe and all the tweaks and you might get 48k-49k

explains why all of a sudden we are seeing great performance! Last year Dothan wasnt much but now its da bomb! What did they change? Ondie controller? Dual channel with bh5? low latency cache? High fsb mobos? This is very exciting to be seeing new records broken after a few months stangant. I still have hope for the fx57 though, its stock speed is 2.8GHz :D

Asus made an adaptor for Dothan to be used on s478 mobo's (think P4C800). ;)
