Will you keep enjoying your $280 processor that is stable at 2.6 ghz and will perform more or less similarly to this one at 4 ghz, no one cares in this thread thats why its Intel not AMD, oh and I do have an AMD chip that runs at 2.6 ghz stable w/ 1 mb cache I got it about a year ago for $120... its funny all the rave about the Opterons in the AMD forum when the mobiles have had the same cores as the FX's forever and you really don't lose much performance by staying w/ S754

Picked one up from frys with mobo for $120, so far it seems like it can do 3.7 ghz w/ default voltage tried jumping directly to 4 ghz from there with no luck....another strange thing is the health status is reading the temp as 83 to 86 C, regardless of speed i run it at, and I know the HSF that comes with it is crap but I can't believe it is that bad

cooling it with the Scythe Kambodo, and heat is defintely an issue...

I finally got my 506 china going on a abit AA8Xe mobo. So far I can get upto 4.0ghz on stock voltage which is super pi, pi fast and prime stable, but not OCCT stable. Is OCCT designed for AMD only? I use OCCT for my Opteron machines, but this is the first time I am doing more than 50% overclock on an intel cpu.Quote:

I think you get the same results, but a higher FSB.
Maybe clocks the: G0 revision better.
$135 CDN might be a good stop gap for a s775 owner I know whose Pentium D crapped out on him.
