BTW, why is the SPD on these modules left completely blank? Would be nice if at least the name would be in there like Corsair does... I'm not actually a big fan of Corsair dont get me wrong.
I just noticed on that site with the review there was an OCZ ad, but no ads from any other of the memory companies used in the review. When it then turns out that very very few sticks on the market will be hitting 500 DDR, but rather 460-470, thats food for some thought...

I don't know about this Ryan. Maybe it is, maybe not.
I bought the stick last week, which JC's using now.
I got his Corsair 256MB PC3500 stick while he got my new OCZ 3500.
On his IT7, he could run 240Mhz, 2-7-2-3, Enhanced ON with the Corsair stick but not with the OCZ stick.
Maybe the stick needs a good burn-in, who knows.

I managed to run memtest at 224Mhz, 2-7-2-2, without errors, so that's a good sign. But I couldn't 3dmark at 230Mhz, 2-7-2-2.

Every stick of memory is different. Some will oc like mad, some others won't. Matter of luck, I guess.
Only time will tell if it's really that good as they say it is.
I know that I won't reach that high because of my cpu :D
But it's a good start.

It would be nice if we knew what chips are used. I suppose it's not Winbond.
Can you tell us more about this Ryan?

Is it just me or is OCZ just easier to get in canada?, I cant find anyplace selling corsair in canada, I'm trying to get off the shelf samples of both brands to test in my 1.6a/IT7 setup. I work for a small computer reseller and want to carry one or the other brands, OCZ seems to be a lot cheaper up here, but I dont trust product reviews from 99% of the websites out there, especially when said webiste is sponsored by said company, that's why I buy the stuff myself and test it out.

Haha I so agree :P I bet 75% of stuff (from manufacturers) being reviewed is hand picked.

I think ive got you all licked on the unbuffered scores - but as the compare to the buffered shows its a completely crap test :).

Heres unbuffered at DDR482 - MUCH better than low timings @ DDR520.

what motherboard are you using???
why your score is 100mb/s better than mine with less mhz and probably same timings (i have 3900 at 2-5-2-2 enhanced on, the maximun on my IT7-2 V2.0).. have you disabled enhanced ?(i see that with it disabled the sandra score increase quite a bit)

My unbuffered score is 100mb/s higher than yours because im running at higher mhz, not less. Youre score is at DDR510, mine at DDR520. The adata ram also gives very low benchmarks compared to memory like corsair, twinmos and samsung at the same mhz and timings. I know as I have 2 apacer data systems sticks myself and see the same thing.

The Epox board has no enhanced option.

Both those benchmarks are done with Twinmos PC3200. If you check the intel forum for the 4PEA+ threads you will see that macci and myself are having great success with this board. His unbuffered benches are about 100mb/s above mine. He has managed to run DDR507 @ 2/5/2/2 timings with a stick of corsair XMS3500.

I have used the IT7 v2.0 and noticed no enhanced setting. Infact none of the max2 v2.0 bioses have the enhanced function in them at all. Very strange that you claim to have it?

My unbuffered result was at 2/6/3/3 timings. Timings show very little difference on the buffered test, but as you can see when you truly measure performance using the unbuffered test the difference is quite substantial.

As for better performance - yes much better.

My super pi, pifast and 3dmark scores have all improved inline with the bettr memory performance I have seen.

I suggest you read the "Epox 4PEA+ Memory Breakdown" thread on the intel forum before you consider buying though. This board is very picky about what memory you use.

Im still confused as to how you have the enhance dram performance option on the IT7 Max2 v2.0 when its been removed though. And also how you seem to be running the A.Data memory a good 10mhz higher than anybody else and at maximum timings too.

The highest I have previously seen with this memory was DDR502 @ 2/7/3/3/Enhance timings on the IT7. Most sticks seem to fall between DDR466 and DDR480 using 2/7/3/2/Enhance timings and about 3v. You either have the best stick of that memory ever made or.....

the IT7-MAX2 V2.0 haven't the Enhanced options because it is always enabled (so says phantompunisher, the person who make the Abit modded bios for now)

for the buffered test i had understanded that it was at 484 max timings, sorry, my fault ;)

for the 3d on 4pea, now i run to see, it would be probably my next mobo if it is so cool in benches ;)

That's right, the Max2 v2.0 doesn't have the Enhanced option, BUT it has a hidden "TURBO" option, which is set to "Disabled" by default.
I modded the bios with TURBO set to enabled by default and it seems to influence performance a lot. I could boot at 224Mhz, 2-7-2-2 at all, system froze at boot screen.
Reflashed to original modded bios with Turbo disabled and it booted fine.

if you see my signature you can see 3dmark benches with this stick at 246mhz 2-5-2-2
so if 3dmark benches at 246, soon probably can do it at 248, it is quite easy to do a sandra bench at 510mhz, not?

the problem is that using settings worse than 2-5-2-2 i have no o/c improvement... now i'm trying 2.5-5-2-2 (intel boards seems to have better performance with cas2.5 tha cas2) but seems that have less stability than cas2... :(

ah... i'm not good with bios mods, i've only read in the site from pahntompunisher an improvement over original bios that Enhanced ram is always set to on... don't know if this is true or not...
