Edit: LMAO :ROTF: I was confused because on Monarch it said AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual-Core 1MB Per Core 90nm and I thought what they meant was the price of $999 was for one 4800+ core. I looked at it again and then it hit me that what they meant was that there was 1mb l2 cache per core. And anyways, how would you put 2 cores in? There's only one slot in the mobo and you can't put them one on top of the other. :am:

Was this new when you posted? I ordered a 4400+ about an hour after you posted this. Hopefully I can pull my 3700+ and ebay it before I leave the country on the 5th.

finally, komplett.co.uk have added the x2's and the 4400+ is only £390, thats like £40 less than the cheapest previously listed, and £100 cheaper than some. its closer to inline with what prices should be but again komplett are rather expensive lately, and £390 is still above what it thought prices should be, but hopefully most places will change their prices accordingly, 2 places say stock next week on their forums(or one mighta been a guess) so proper prices will hopefully be around next week to order.

+4400 is the one to go im going to wait a little bit till price comes down im willing to pay like 570$ for that one...

i want to see how the sapphire board perfoms to see if i buy that one... i love computer world but i wish i have more money to buy everything out there.... xD

I got kinda lucky. I picked a 4400+ with 2 day shipping ($12) and 3 year OEM warranty($15). They did not charge me for the warranty :)

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I'm glad I didn't preorder at other sites yet :)

As for the prices, they are indeed approx the same as some American prices,after adding UK Vat to it at least. Example Monarch 4400+ = $$615 USD / 1.81 = £339.78 GBP. Add UK Vat @ 17.5% = £399.24GBP.

yep, they are kinda in line with us prices, but us prices should be $580, so £25/30 less than komplett. but again very few cpu's stay at rrp prices due to competition. afaik very few items are sold above rrp, basically thats the price amd set so people know what to expect, then stores all compete with slight drops in cost. for instance the 3700+ came out most places at rrp, its now £10-20 below most places.

anyway, if you pre-order from komplett you can grab some cheap bh-5 too, down to £42 for the pc3500, £37 for the pc3200, very cheap. i remember when bh-5 twinmos first hit 2 years ago and it was £22-23 for a 256mb stick, finally prices for premo stuff are back down where they were.

see, people have said uk/europe doesn't get stuff before states, we've had more sites pop up, and first with pre-orders than the states, and i think we have same/some earlier dates listed than the states. we got the venice's(3800+'s) a couple days earlier. not sure why its happening but its good, been happening for well over year, we had some of the first x800's too, and winchesters, hell even the 9700 pro's were available same time here. however nvidia cards deffo were the exception.

LOL i'm excited to see who gets em' first. Here in Denmark the ETA(?) is 7 june :)

Somehow i doubt that is realistic althoug teh shop were i've placed my order usualy is right.

Does Monarch usually ship a week earlier than their first estimates? I think they are going to recieve shipment on the 7th. Everyone got the first shipment of San Diegos/Venices about a week early.

:eek: Perkam! How can you say that?! Oh well, yeah, I agree the prices are high but not off of the suggested AMD prices. At least for the 4800+ because that's what I'm most interested in. It's $2 cheaper :D But yeah, I agree with you, the prices are high but they will drop in time and until then you can just wait and play around with the processors you have right now.

Monarch is a little overpriced, plus I like to go with small frys..I actually prefer dealing with the lesser-knowns. I find that the smaller the company, the more each individual sales means to them, and so thier staff tends to be a lot more helpful, and they'll really try and keep you happy.
