The only thing I'd be concerned about is bending the mobo if held sideways. You exert a lot of pressure when you screw down any heatsink, I don't think weight would matter much.Quote:

the SLK is half the weight lol
I have mine mounted and sitting sideways in the case, most the weight it in the base, the top is aluminum but the base is a huge slab of copper.Quote:

That's good to know. I'm pretty sure mobo's are supposed to withstand that kind of weight, but I always lay my case flat so how would I know :PQuote:

This is 1:1, my G.Skill 4400 LE tops out at 304, memtest errors at 305 so I'm waiting on OCZ PC4800 to come in. This Cooler rocks!

Im glad everything is working out for you ok there dnottis...you been through hell with all those cpus...I remember that...
u guys worry too much :)
i have had a tall thin 1.1kg heatsink (hyper6) hanging off my mobo for 9 months and it hasnt snapped yet (crosses fingers)
I'm also glad to see things are looking up for you Dean cause you have had one hell of a time in the past :D
Wow, I might actually get that. Although, I wonder *how* much better it could be over an xp-120 with a 145cfm fan (my setup) ;)
Nice though, 2.73ghz, thats hot.
Very nice dnottis. Will this work in a k8n neo2 pt m/b? I cant find any compatibility list at TT website.
thanks.
Your correct I have the Silent tower and it is massive.(won't even fit in narrower cases), its almost 12" tall. I've had it for 6 months and its great, my temps are as good or better than those using and XP-120 with fan.Quote:

wow thats a huge heatsink!!!
i bet if you lap teh base mirror smooth and lap the cpu slug mirror smooth use artic silver 5 very little of it and put a delta or tornado 120mm on there you will beat 90% of watercooling out there but with more noise.
try that and 1.65 or 1.7 volts and i bet your cpu will fly

I have a feeling screwing down the Cooler is allowing the cooler to make better contact with the CPU though, this may be partially why the temps are so good with it over my XP90.Quote:
