I didn't read the first post that ask for small/large FFT 24hrs. I will do it again on higher speed 2.6 was too easy. :p:

Sticky!!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to stop by and compliment Faceless Rebel for starting this thread. All too often, people "Shoot the Messenger" when their overclock is not stable enough to run Prime95 Torture, In-place Large FFTs, claiming it is a flawed application or whatever. I just saw a thread somewhere where a person asked whether the latest Venice cores had the same Prime95 bug as such-and-such a stepping? Who starts these rumors anyway?
Hoot
I'm going to give this a go later as I am in the process of finding my max OC and also my max Prime stable OC.
I think there's quite a difference on these Venices! I can SuperPi to 8M @ 2.93 Ghz, but I'm struggling to pass prime much past 2.7 Ghz! :stick:
I think that's why people are frustrated with Prime. I would like to know my 24 hr stable though, that way I can be sure there will be no errors building up in my system.
Another call for STICKY! :stick:

CPU is 24 Prime stable up to 2800/280 but I have to use 1.7v for that which is too high for my liking. I run it at this speed daily and up the clocks for benching and such.
Should I msg mod and ask for sticky? Or will mod just sticky it when STICKY!!!!!!!! gets said often enough? ;)
edit: If you are reading this mod and you would like to sticky, then feel free to do so. If not, I promise I won't mind either way. :)

Well, I'm trying to Prime at the lowest Vcore possible. I was 2.7GHz Prime
stable at a voltage that I find was too high, so I used Sentential Burn-In technic
and now it looks like I can Prime waaaaay lower than what I used to!! I was septic
about that technic but I must say, it looks to work!!
I've lowered my Vcore to 1.520v 270x10. Is it Prime stable?, well I didn't reach 24hrs yet, but looking good.
Give it a try, you never know.
If there's a thread about that burn in technic here at Xtreme, would be nice to PM it to me. :p:
Burn-in technic here!
Where as i agree with prime95 stabilty is a good thing to have, we must all remember tht everything is RELATIVE.
Specifically, with stress testing components for long periods of time, temperature is a one of the biggest problems which need overcoming to retain stabilty over long periods, which comes to my point.
Its ok for someone to run these tests and point to their prime95 stabilty for a certain setup, but whatever screenies are posted all only relative to the temperatures which existed (ambient) at the time.
If we try to run these tests, during a period of time when the ambient temperatures are greater, many of these prime95 stabilty tests which passed will fail. As would be the case if we lowered the temps, some would pass prime95 stabilty at higher settings.
It is all relative, which is the main reason tht I stay away from joining in such ventures. If ambient temps increase by 5C, then my stable ovrclk decreases, wht happens to prime95 stabilty? It is thrown out the window!!!
I don't think ambient temp matters much to you....you're running watercooled! ;)

Help!
I've been running SP2004 for 17 hours and I want a screenshot when its done 24, but somehow, it's minimised and won't show the window!
It just stays as a taskbar item!
Double clicking the tray icon just makes a taskbar icon appear, and not a window!
Any ideas?
:(
EDIT - A Warning to the rest of you - DO NOT use the 'Show Desktop' or Windows Key + D - it means SP2004 will be permanently stuck in the taskbar!
I've reported it to Johnny Lee.
Go to your taskmanager and click activate when SP2004 is selected... :)
Had the same prob ;)
I know maybe not the right thread to ask but anyone knows why prime won't pass test 1 for hours on winXP service pack 2 (clean winxp install+sp2). It just tests this test 1 for hours and it reports no error after pressing stop
Test 1, 4000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M19922945 using 1024K FFT length.
It should be like test2 and test 3 etc.
I have no problems with SP1 and no problems on Intel and sempron rigs and SP2!

This usually happens for 1GB systems. Try to run a custom test (set the memory to be used at 800 or so). Prime seems to have a memory allocation problem.Quote:

Got a couple of questions someone here might be able to answer. From what I've read OCCT is supposedly more sensitive than Prime95 but I'm not seeing that.
Does it make sense that OCCT runs for >4hrs and Prime95 fails after 2hrs with CPU at 2.65GHz?
Also, I get higher CPU, PWMIC and Chipset temperatures with Prime95 than I get with OCCT. Does this make sense too?
Thanks.
I use OCCT for a quicker test to see if it will pass. If it does i know i'm on the right track. If it passes OCCT and Superpi 32m then its on to Prime 95.If it passes 24 hrs of prime then i fold on it so my oc has to be stable.

310*9, vcore +8.5% for 1.525v, RAM running at 7/10 divider for 217Mhz at 2-5-2-2-1T timings.
Cooling is a swiftech waterblock, max temp never passed 45°C
Max overclock for a quick bench was just shy of 2900
2835 failed prime after 17 hours,
2790 is 100% stable, most likely 2808 would've still been good too
but this is good enough for everyday use.
I used blend here, because my RAM wasn't going as good as i had hoped
and I needed the certainty it would hold up.
