that's probably a marketing sample, again..
board will probably be exactly the same as the UT just 939pin... too bad they waiting too long and newark will be out before this board is available so there's no reason to get it :(

This board will be perfect for the likes of me looking to upgrade from a socket A system. Currently using an XP-M and an NF7-S v2, with some good TCCD, a 6800GT and a nice strong PSU....combined with a venice this will be a sweet upgrade :D
1.95v for the chipset is pretty nice, 3.2v dimm is decent, but I honestly thought they might provide 3.5 or even perhaps be extremely lucky and push it to 4v like the NF4 boards =/ oh well, 3.2 will be more than sufficient for the likes of me with TCCD.
I just REALLY hope I can fit an XP120 on there. I'd have a really hard time justifying a move from my Neo2 if I can't.
For those who say it's too late and no one will buy it, you're wrong. There are heaps of people with Neo2's and the like out there that don't want to upgrade graphics cards just to get a new CPU. I for one don't want to sell my 6800 just yet, as I bought it only 6 months ago.
It's great i've finally been able to see a pic, I bet a lot of people have been waiting for at least something like this. Can't wait 'til I can get my hands on one!

guess what i was trying to say is, besides people who are looking for a performance increase , people who have all ready moved to an agp s939 board most likely wont be buying this as they allready upgraded, thats not most of us here who will probably be buying one, but normal folk who just upgraded and thats it for the next 2 years. in many aspects dfi missed the boat on the majority of people upgrading to s939 who kept their old agp cards and gave msi a nice lead in the market for agp s939 boards, and most of the people who upgrade afterwards unless they have an expensive vid card (not everyone buys a x800 or 6800u) will be upgrading to whats new on the market for some future proofing.
but hey ill be buying one unless something like the r520 card and a nice sapphire ati chipset board comes out before it.
:2cents:
if dfi will sell it in a cheap price (like the msi ) so he can have nice piece of tha cake.
very nice vdimm for s-939 board.
well done dfi :toast:
why only up to 3.2vdimm ?
woo hoo! I can keep my 9800pro and finally get a DFI board for high memory voltage. this neo2 is ok, but i liked my dfi nf3 board muchos better
Looking at the picture, it'll be extremely tight between the AGP slot and the heat pipes. a matter of 1-2mm. It will also depend on the type of card and cooling you're using. The 120 on an NF4 blocks the first PCI-E slot so if it does work on this board I will be very surprised.Quote:

this thing is going to be amazing i hope, as long as the voltages are stable, and with DFI bios support, im excited
Tad dissapointed in the vdimm tbh, would have liked to have seen a little higher. 3.5 would have been nice...
Gonna wait for reviews, but looks like this neo2 might have to tide things over until PCI-E calls, pushing up to 270*10 which appears to be maxing mem, cpu and mobo at the same time... Lovely stuff....
Damn it, this makes my next upgrade so much more complicated. I could get this, and I would only have to replace my s754 motherboard and processor, or I could just wait and get a newark, or I could ditch my AGP 6800 Ultra as well as my processor and motherboard and go NF4. The only reason I'm considering ditching it is because it doesnt clock terribly well, but I haven't really tried too hard, just upped the frequencies in coolbits. Anyway, great to see DFI is finally getting their foot in the door for NF3 939, although it is a little late. Hey, I'll take it though!
Agreed. :toast: I would love to replace my Epox 9NDA3+ with one of these - I have always felt my overclocks were being held back by my mobo. About the XP-120, it is going to be really tight - the heat pipes may encroach on the AGP slot. I guess we could use an XP-90 or XP-90C instead. The fan would be a little louder, but the Venice chips run incredibly cool so they should be enough. :slobber:Quote:

I'm gunna have to sleep on this..... Sell the Neo2 go DFI, sell the CBBID and get Venice... hmmm
That's exactly what I was wondering, after seeing that, I figured it wouldn't be a problem for TicTac or someone alike to mod the BIOS to allow up to 4. Like I said earlier, even 3.5v would be nice and more than adequate for me.Quote:

Thanks for the newark link BTW, I see it's socket 754 though so yeah that's definitely not a feasible route that I'd like to go, although I hear they might have the dual core mobiles be moving to socket 939 which would indeed be freaking awesome.
I wish the mobile were standard socket 939, that'd be pimp, it'd almost be like the XP-M days aggain :D
The Neo2 platinum is indeed a good board, seen as the best OC'er for nf3 AGP, but as far as I've heard it can be buggy from time to time, so hopefully this DFI will solve that. I've been holding out on AMD64 for this DFI board specifically....if for whatever reason it winds up not coming out I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and sell my 6800GT and upgrade from there, which sucks because it's all nice and burned in now :(
San Diego here I come!
I hope DFI release a 754 with pic-e, so you can have the advantages of runnin a mobile chip and pci-e.
That'd be nice too.
That aint gonna happen. As far as I know NF4 = strictly PCI-E.....socket 754 = strictly nf3......nf3 = strictly AGP
Adding PCI-E to socket 754 which AMD has already announced would be discontinued would be like going backwards as far as new technology goes
Ha, two people quoting me in one thread? That's gotta be a record.Quote:

I've waited so damn long for this board, and if people need to do some cap-bending just to get a fkn XP120 on there like for Neo2's, then i'll be slightly miffed. However, it's not that I don't appreciate all the hard work that DFI have put into it, just that if after all this we can't put one of the most popular coolers of today onto the board, then damn, that's just one hell of a letdown.

I saw that poll about the cold booting issues.....what exactly was the problem because I don't leave my computer on 24/7 so technically I'll be 'cold booting' once every single day =/
