here you go.... ;)

Now don't quote me on this, but I think those chips that you're referring to may be smd resistors which are rated at 0 ohms. I'm pretty sure they have no markings........

Those are little 0-ohm smd resistor's used on the actual SLI to make the bridge, so using a 30ga peice of wire will do the same.

Cool.. Thanks for clearing up the resistor questions.. :)
@kamaleon.. Im not sure about those extra bridged contacts on the SLI that arent bridged on the non-sli version.. But I can tell you 100% that these current mods do work perfect the way they are..
Although im gona try and find out if anyone knows what the others might do..
i hear the newer nforce4 chips prevent this only because they physically changed it. even still these modable chips will be around for awhile since they mass produced, then found out...lol
didnt know about the SATAII though, that is pretty cool.
Yea, its possible they might change it.. But at least with DFI they will be moddable for quite some time since they have thousands of boards and raw chips that where purchased before anyone ever knew they are moddable..Quote:

Ultra-D to SLi trick is still possible ?
I have an older board that is mod able, but what should I use. I don't really want to go and buy something, I'd rather just use something I have already. Does a pencil work?
It might work. Make sure it's dark enough.
Whats so good about SATA II? the drives look the same as regular SATA.

Rear Window Defroster kit is what I used............scratches off with a fingernail should one have to RMA a board.
All I used out of the kit was this solution.........bridged the gap with ease and now botta binga! :D

I see no reason why it wouldn't work, since the actual chip silicon is the same- the bridge mods make the chipset look like an Ultra/SLI to the drivers and bios so Active Armour etc. should work fine:).
Bump to remind people of the mod.. :D
for god sake 20$.....difference between ULTRA-D and SLI-D
:rolleyes:Quote:

Now you mod the NF4-D or the Ultra-D and you have a SLI-D.. you just gotta buy the bridge..
NF4-SLI-D = $178
$125 (NF4-D) + $19 (Bridge) = $144
Savings.. = $34
well 34$ ...but if you don't get moddable ULTRA-D ? :P

If you dont believe me then so be it.. But I have some VERY reliable inside sources that say this..
:stick:
i have a NF4-DAGF, using the standard version of the NF4 chipset. gonna try to do the sata2 mod later to day.
That is a untested mod and beware that it might not work.. hopefully it wont damage anything..Quote:
