If indeed the new 3500+ chips are a full 1024kb of L2, it may mean AMD is going to phase out 512k chips from their premium line. Now I couldn't make any decent business case for this other than to compete on a checklist against Intel's 2MB chips (joe-blow wont understand IPC, Intel understands).
However, its probably more likely that its a failed SD 4000+ or such. A full fledged 1MB chip would be an awesome little overclocker though. :)
The 3500+ san diego would likely have only 512kb cache. I have seen this listed as ADA3500DAA4BN. If it had 1 mb cache it would be 5BN. Furthermore, the rating would not be 3500 if it ran at 2.2 and had 1mb cache.Quote:

AMD will not release another fx at the same clock speeds as the one before it.
It will be at 2.8ghz, 90nm, have sse3 support and might not be called fx57 this time they might change the naming process :)
Hope the prices will stay close as thats a great price for those..
I highly doubt the FX57 will run at the same speed as the FX55, with the same L2 cache etc.Quote:

Until Intel stops giving Dell special pricing on chips, Dell wont be using AMD anytime soon. Dell is very profitable because they are the only manf who is solely intel.
