can't be amr I don't think because there's no mobo that supports it even is there? I don't know of any p4 mobo's with two pci-e slots even, so we're pretty sure it is the r520, 40,000 is quite an achievement, but I am a little dissapointed as that can be had with current cards now (not including sli) Although it is very hard to get. I'd really like to see an 05 run though. Wonder what nvidia has up there sleeve (wonder if nvidia has anything up it's sleeve'?)
I'm pretty sure it's a single card, prob. just trying to be discreet or something ;)Quote:

does anyone knwo the stats of the r520 ? i do :P
:slobber: lets see if he will share
wait, RS480 is an intel chipset? thought that was the name for the AMD chipset...Quote:

if the guy zardon confirms it a rs480... then its fake. :( but, for next gen radeon chipset, it seems about right.
Is there a compare link for this 3d run?
OPP
nope. there are no compares for any cpu over 4ghz, and over 40k. ;)

Nice food for though to speculate in the meantime I guess. I do wonder what nature a stock r520 gets, perhaps 600?
well, what i would do, is take a stock x800/x850 xtpe run, with an fx-55... see how many points they would need to get to 40k, and probably 60-80% would come from nature, and the rest from dragothic.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8440180
theres a stock FX-55, and x850xt at 520/560.
40145-31699 = 8446
8446 *.7 = 5912.
thats 295fps in nature. so thats about a 550fps in nature. though, its probably closer to 500fps, because the 4.3ghz p4EE is going to be better then a 2.6ghz fx-55.
unless i'm going about this all wrong. :D
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8293038 for a 4.3Ghz current Intel EE at 600/590 and it gains 7k .. so I would say it is pretty impressive to be honest.Quote:

he wont post anything that will show the raw power of the gpu because of the NDA, thats why he wont elaborate on specific game tests in 2k1 either.Quote:

that chip is one of the new ees wich is based on the prescott core! no ee powaaa :(Quote:

i doubt its clocked at 700mhz core, more like 500, maybe 600, but i dont think 700 for a stock card...Quote:

where do you have that information from?Quote:

Pekram how do you know all of this stuff and so sure of it? It was known from the beginning that the R520 will support AMR. And let's say that what you're saying is right, ATI can always add AMR support while in production. Also you said that the R520 was planned even before the R420, how do you know? I'm just speculatg, so maybe i'm wrong. Your writing style indicates that you're 100% sure of what's gonna happen.
subscribed :D
I think it's built into the cards, might be the mobo chset though, I dunno. ?I f it's the mobo chipset then no nforce 4/5 + ati :(Quote:

if it is 512mb of XDR as inq suggests, i think rambus are back in a big way, altho the inq isnt exactly known for high reliability in some of its storys
I'm still confused, r520 is for xbox2, isn't it?
so it was r523? :D
I imagine, how would be the score if he did that with x850xtpe?
No the XBOX 2 Chip (next Xbox = XBOX NEXT) is the R500 which is based on the R520 for the PC.Quote:

As for the AMR for the R520, I'm still finding link but I pretty sure the R520 isnt capable for more than one reason. Firstly, ATI isnt stupid, and the lack of cards we've seen over the past year have been in situation where most of those who wanted the card, the high end market, got it even though many stores were out of stock...WHY? Cos there was no need for them and ATI could shift costs to low-end and OEM market. Secondly, if this new card (40,000) comes out to be a 512MB X850, then there will be NO NEED for ATI to have the R520 out, at least until August, etc cos there is no response from Nvidia and dual R520s running on ANYBODY's computer before aug/sep would be overkill. Especially since no response from Nvidia will be coming until very late 2005 or early 2006.
About the $699. Because ATI's has seriously screwed up its pricing with no ceiling in sight, it wont be doing a $150 price but on the X850s anytime soon ESPECIALLY on the 512MB ones coming so its going to stay somewhere around $599 for the 512MB ones, $549, current msrp for 256mb x850xt PEs. This means that if the R520 is coming out anytime soon, $799 would be way too high for it to be an alternative to SLI and as stated 599 would be taken up by 512mb versions of its X850 which would also be new to the market around that time, so $699 makes it practical.
Oh and the R520 was in development long before Nvidia unveiled its SLI and seeing how ATI is having so much trouble with REALTO, their PCIe-to-AGP, bridge, I really doubt they can send out the R520 AMR-ready to a market that doesnt need it.
Remember though, I said NEED not WANT lol. LTFB !!!
Perkam
i might be wrong but i think its r500 in the xbox 2, kind of a cut down version of the r520 i assume
edit: beaten to it
CONFIRMED !!!!Quote:
