Gitzum there is another post on the an8 with current issues he's found
1. no way to change cpu multi at this point in time.
2.uGuru does not work in windows.(he's using another proggy to OC in windows)

I hope your right tic tac but the other post going on the an8 the user upped vdimm to 2.8 and turned ddr/ref voltage to +60 and got 2.85v max. Maybe the fatality board will yield higher? also on another note the an8 only goes up to 1.8 vcore in bios i noticed the fatality went to 1.85 vcore. As soon as i get the bios hes gonna try it in the an8 see if it works.Quote:

uGuru works for me. Doesn't have multiplier adjustments. Clocks the HTT, PCIe, and all the voltages, and six different fan headers.
I am unable to change multi in bios as well. Hopefully that is not the case with an FX cpu. Cause I got one comin! :confused:

I would like to say that this is the fifth ABIT board I have had in the last couple years and it has been the easiest to get going. No problems getting it to install Window's or wondering if the PCI is locked or not.
So far I have been able to get my 3500+ upto 2550mhz with only 1.525v
This was not possible on my NEO2. No big deal for some of you but I am using all air cooling and my RAM tops out at around 255.
I am quite pleased with this board so far. I think I will probably wait till some time next week when my FX-55 shows up before I really see what she can do.
Oh, and the video card is spankin the eVGA 6800GT a had before too. Which happens to be for sale on E-Bay.
You gotta laugh at Abit folks. They are making gadgets. They put up this VDimm to 2.8V and then they are giving you this plastic assembly to cool memory. Cool from what, summer heat? :banana:
And this thing is $50 more expensive than DFI. You gotta be crazy to pay that much more for worse board.
This isn't the bash fatality AN8 thread this is fatality first look and the fact that it didnt arrive DOA is a plus which I can't say the same for other *cough* motherboards available right now. IF you wanna bash a brand or board start your own thread please.
yea really, lets not start a board war.
besides, everybody here should hope that the ABIT fatality is a great board. because that gives US more options to choose from, and it keeps the companies honest when there is competition out there.
i'm hoping that the "special" bios if it exists, gives it as many options for voltage as the DFI, and its great that they just have +voltage, instead of % increase.
man, the Nf7 just had the voltage you wanted to give it, pllain and simple, no +voltage of VID, and crap like that.
I've had several Abit boards and have loved them all, I hope this one turns out well as I'd like to see Abit make a real strong come back.
I'd really hate to see them lose too much market share and give up on us overclockers.

How is differencs between Fatal1ty and regular AN8 ?

It is still early for this board - there's no use in judging it harshly yet. The NF7 didn't get good until a couple of revisions, and the NEO2 I have now performs better than the one I got in August. Having said that, I still don't have much faith in ABIT right now, but we'll see :) The multiplier issue could easily be fixed with a BIOS update.

Yes there will be a special bios for the fatality users to give us more overclocking options i.e unlocking all multiplyiers and probbly 3.2 or more on the VDIMM but will void the RMA warrenty.
