Is this new revision suppose to fix the mem controller?
if these chips are using 754 :D :D
They are using 754, which is why I'm saying if a Revision E for 90nm is coming out for 754 then there has to be one for 939. BUT: With turion launching in April, then what I have said time and time again the Revsion E for 939 won't come out until summer, is now true!
OR!!! it rev e 939 might come out b4 the 754 to test yeilds, in order to hand pick low wattage ones for mobile stock.
jesus this thread is turning into a rumour pumping machine!
think about it tho it makes sense. All of their mobiles so far are just handpicked desktop chips with no ihsQuote:

they probably are, how else are they acheiving such low thermal ratings
Any word on cost?

Although AMD has set the prices of its Turion 64 CPUs about 13% cheaper, on average, than Intel’s Pentium M (Dothan) processors, some vendors have suggested that AMD needs to aggressively lower Turion 64 CPU prices to around 25% lower than P4 M CPUs, in order to gain market share from Intel, the sources said.
So these new chips are 1mb cache, (probably) strained silicone, 25w, AND socket 754?
I just may have to pick one up for my DFI nf3 board when they come out then :toast:
The first article says ~13% cheaper than the P-M Dothans. Considering the Dothans range from $215 to $645, maybe $187 to $561 for the Lancasters? Even though I couldn't imagine a mobile CPU being that much.
lets hope that these come out for the s754 and give hope to us people who cant afford 939, AND o/c as well as the mobile XP's, but ill try not to get my hopes up :D
if those specs are rite, it must be socket 754,
3200+ with 2ghz and 1mb cache vs winnie 2ghz 512KB cache and so on
then 3700+ should be 3500+ 2.2Ghz w 1MB cache ?
they will be on 754 first, im sure those 90nm 1mb chips will come to socket 939 pretty fast as well though :)
think they will have dual channel mem controllers on there?Quote:

I dont see that changing for any of AMD's cpu's. just my observation though. The Dothan would have kicked ass if it would have come out a year sooner.Quote:

Its as frosted flakes says - it is the umbrella name for all in that category - it is most definitely not a E0 Winchester (cough cough venice)! There is more to an E0 than just SSE3 - e.g. an extra 2 layers (9 to 11). ALL A64s under manufacture will move to revision E in time including Semprons but that does not make them Winchesters!
L1 doesnt matter much, 128kb is fine as its only used for low level stuff, not a lot of data goes through it. i belieive
but i get what you mean
754 is getting very good, the ony good a64 motherboards with agp, now have 90nm 1mbs!!! AND they are mobile :D :toast:
:YIPPIE:
droool.. i want one
Calling Turion "Winchester Rev. E" would be like calling Winchester "Newcastle Rev. D". ;)
OT:
Maxx, same bday.
All the fx chips have 1meg L2Quote:
