You have the option to change the thread title there.
Thx for the newbie help, KnightElite :)
Well as far as the Kingston memory goes.....
I got here 1x512MB DDR333 KIngston with Kingston 6ns chips and 1x512MB DDR400 Kingston with Winbond BH-5 chips...
I can tell ya that those 6ns Kingston chips are great.... I can run 217MHz 2.0-2-6-2 ar 2.9V without a problem and 217MHz 2.5-3-7-3 at 2.5V...
Right now this EPoX 4PEA is holding me back from going up because of the lack of 3:4 divider..... :stick:
Thx. Man
On OPP'S glowing remarks I was thinking about it, but newegg only has'm in 512..... 256 is OOS . I need 2 that's $450 , and with the other items I still have to get, that ain't gonna happen.
Thanks again,
muzz
UPDATE
Well things took a turn for the worst. I put the Kingston in a IT7 mobo and had awfull results. Now I put it on my KD7, replaceing my Corsair 3500, a simple switch at 190 max timings and I couldn't get into windows. I'm playing around now with minimal timings at 200 but the main thing was that the max timings were no good for the memory.
I guess If you have a BE7 mobo then this is the stuff to get, on the other hand it is pretty iffy on other types of mobos.
Still trying to figuer this stuff out:D

Thanks for the update OPP, I was afraid of that platform problem....... I think I'm gonna get the TwinMoss.
Yea it's official, the Kingston is no good on the KD7. The best sticks I have here are the Corsair 3500 C2 and some OCZ 3200 Rev2, both 256mb sticks, for the KD7.

Have you tested the newer TM?
Whats TM ?? :DQuote:

Newer TwinMoss........... heheh Pils says that is probably the stuff to get, never can have enough hardcore opinions....:D
There are alot of sharks in the water ya know...... I don't feel like getting bit.
:D
Twinmos "goos sticks" are producted with the Winbond BH-5 chips, which OPP "have" on the Kingston PC3500 and the XMS3500, i guess that OCZ also used them on their 3200EL.
Nope, can't say I've tryed it, wouldn't even know where to look for it:D

Thanks Raiven, had no Idea.Quote:

NP :)
BTW , how do you test ram stability?
I can get my XMS3200C2 to run @ 222 mhz, 2-7-3-2 enached, 2.75V...is passes all memtest\goldmem\rime loops..but when setting mem test to loop only test 5 it fails after 40 benchmarks..it will be intresting to know how do you checking for those sticks stability :)
Yep on the winbond 5ns chips, seem to be the ones to get...... I know the Geil uses ( supposedly ) 4.5 ns chips...... but ya know how that go's, they started their business off on the wrong foot.....
Pilsy has been testing some twinmos i sold him, this memory is ddr400 but does not have winbond 5ns chips on it.Its spd is exactly the same as Corsair 3200cas2 and it performs better. He looked at both sticks of ram and he feels that they are infact the same, even down to them being manufactured on the same pcb with the only diference the twinmos clocks a little further.
Geil does use chips which marked as 4.5NS..but we can't know if it's just printed, if it was real 4.5NS is would be able to do 222 at stock voltage..which it can't.
Also, from my reading about Geil mos tof their mem's requires long burn-in to perform, and the perform after the burn in is more or less equal to other brands perfs from the box..
Thanks guys, the site that I'm looking at buying the TM is saying the ram has those 5ns chips on it... big what do the sticks u sold him have?
There is one REV of the Twinmos with Samsung chips and one REV with the BH-5...maybe there is also early rev with the BH-6 rev b chips.
You forgot the revision of Twinmos with twinmos chips..this is what both Pilsy and I have.
Since when Twinmos is chips manfacture? they are buying chips from Samasung and Winbond...
Thats what i though..i will take a piccy and post it for you.
