thnx for all this work
Thanks again Tony. Seems BH is better than VX on this board if you have some that clocks high. Good thing I kept my BH-6 when I bought my VX. If it turns out to do better I am going to sell my VX and keep my Platinum Edition 2 X 512. Anything else we need to know about?
Hi Tony,
wondering if you feel its possible an XP-120 HS will fit on this board without issue?
any suggestions on what memory to use, or not enough tests to conclude? also is tccd the best for it, or is something else better. my price range is up to 130 for one 512. thanks.
you seem to be comparing your memory mostly, the thread title denotes your testing the board, and we all know most nf4 boards can do 300htt+(400 too), slap it up there and see what the BOARD can do.
I was just wondering how the Non SLI version compare to the SLI version? Can you give us a comparasion since some of us don't want to go SLI :) Thanks.
LOL< 2x256 BH-5 He was running at 264mhz he was doing 260mhz 1:1 with the 2x512 VX ;)Quote:

very good observation chosenone214. My BH based memory is also 2 x 512mb so perhaps things will change in that respect.
You will have the sweet option to compare VX vs BH-5 in 2x512Mb config and share the results.Quote:

do you have to up the voltage on the nb to get high htts?? And if so, how much and and what fsb.
As per the NB cooling, does the nb get hot under load, or at overclocked settings.
Patiently awaiting TCCD overclocking results
You probably didn't saw on Xtreme Bandwidth what Onepagebook did on "an unknown board" ;) ?Quote:

I most certainly do and as soon as I have some results you guys will be the first to know.Quote:

this board support sata2 + NCQ ??
the nf4 chipset supports sata300 with ncq, but the other sata ports dont. Or wait, this board only has four sata slots. If that is the case, i think all of them are sata300.
Guys regarding stability, what im quoting here is bench stable for everything i throw at it. I have been testing now for 14 hrs or so seeing how each type of memory performs.
I can only test OCZ memory as i do infact work for OCZ ;) the exercise was to help you all see how the dimms perform and show the board overclocking.
Regarding high HTT runs, 350 was ok async but not much more. Remember i hit 430 or so on the 250UT but i doubt I will see it on this board. I will push more tomorrow and see if i can squeeze a little more out of it.
Mt TCCD does around 290 1T and 320 2T as its quite old, i have requested later modules to try and show much higher FSB runs. Issue is getting a 1gig kit to run over 300fsb is hard as its seriously CPU dependant as well as memory. And before you all jump that other brands do it easy we have 440 and 437 etc and i know exactly how they overclock, i can get cherry modules but i feel i will lose respect if i start posting cherry benchmarks. I will do my best though to show as high as i can.
Lastly sata specs i will have to check on unless someone wants to jump in. I know the SLI board has the latest SI chip that is fully featured but the D is limited to chipset ports only.
this is the ultra board tho, maybe they might yank out the extra x16 slot and cancel dual xpress graphics...anyway im not big on multi-monitor setups...Quote:

uhh, oops forgot he was reviewing the ultra chipset
Well said BogToe :toast:.
I anxiously await your results I'm planning on going NF4/DFI soon & wanna see some results for the different types of RAM that I'll be able to get my hand on.
Plus it also helps on the hip-pocket if you know a distributor or 2... Might just have to pull some strings to get myself some VX & TCCD to play with...
I also noticed that VX is cheaper than TCCD down here in OZ... I assume it's because of the higher voltages needed to get 2-2-2-5 on those modules...
Can't wait til I see some more exciting results from you. You gain a lot of respect for not testing cherry picked ram unlike some reviewers...
Hopefully this thread will become a "sticky" somewhere down the track as there is already a wealth of knowledge regarding the DFI NF4 here... Especially in regards to RAM...
Can you please post some piccies of the bios settings?? More importantly the ram timgs/voltages as well as the setting to change the jumpers to get the 5v to the ram.
Cheers,
Minnyboy
the ultra can do sli also, even comes with the bridge
@ minnyboy is vx here now i couldnt find it anywhere a couple of weeks ago
http://www.pmecomputers.com.au
Should be a link on the fornt page. $435 for VX
$419 at hardwarecentral.com.au for GoldVX :)Quote:
