I feel your pain guys, had high expectations for mine too.

Only does 270/640. I dropped core about 10 to get 10 more in mem.

Trust me I've played around with my config for HOURS AND HOURS. its a shame i think.

P4 1.6A @ 2.4 1.575v (yes ive tried 1.6 no help) board has no pci/agp lock.

I have a channel well 420 so psu is good

Asus P4S333 mobo

samsung pc2700 256mb

Memory times are conserivtive, 1:1 ratio and by SPD.

Also, case temp is around 25C. about 120CFM worth of fans exhausting and same for intake so airflow is good. sleeved power supply, rounded cables...

so does the vid card run off of the +3.3v? cause mines only at 2.9v.My +5v is at 5.1v , +3.3v stand by is at 3.2v and my cpu voltage says it supposed to be at 1.75v but its running at 1.7v. Seems to me my PSU is running weak in my opinion,i was looking at the Antec true 430 PSU.I was really hoping this was part of my problem with the albatron card.

yeah i was wondering this also does anyone think that increasing the VIO voltage will help? i am not even sure what this does but it says that mine is at 3.54v

also is there any way on the KX7 to increase the AGP voltage cause i am thinkin that might help. it is at 1.52v for me right now.

I do not think increasing the VIO will help anything. Since the times of KR7a MrIcee and others have been stating that more VIO 's doing nothing.

Referring to what MrIcee said the VAGP is on its opt being around 1.52-1.54Volts. So IMO you do not need to mod. If you wanna try anyway just search on icronticforums for KR7a voltage mods.

Think you ll find it there.

sigh ...grrr how come no matter what i set the clock to my 3d mark score drops! wtf, i dont get it.Im really hating this vid card.Does noone know if the power supply is affecting this? i really need to know so i can send this pile of crap vid card back otherwise.

Ok i went to slammys house the other day and put the card in my pc to see if i could get any more out of that card. Well while i was there i was able to get 295/600 and my 3dmark score did not drop. I also found out that with my current PNY GF4 ti4200 will only go to the same speeds as the Albatron which makes me believe it is power supply related. The same things happen when i overclock themt o the same speeds like 3dmark will appear to lock up on the HIGH detail test on both the Truck and the Dargothic but it just laggs out real bad.

I have a friend with an enermax 431 that i can try in the next 2 weeks. Right now im limited to this channel well or a codegen 350 (roommate)

First I also thought my antec could be the problem. Are you guys convinced about this???

Those lags U described I also had if clocking the core any higher than 5Mhz. Raising memory clocks did not result dramatically except going over 741MHz.

My old enermax430 did nearly burn my house as I plugged this in last month (short circuit on one of the floppy cables led to cable burn). Do not know if i shall try this again ...

Well

Ok not sure if i said it right but here i go one more time.
I have a PNY Gf4 ti4200 max oc with this card is 295/610. 300/610 is when i get the nasty 3Dmark LAG. So i put slammys card in and i get the Exact same clocks b4 it starts to LAG. So with the card in 295/610 i get the around the same 3Dmarks of 12,300. When slammy tries to overclock his card his 3dmarks Get Drastically lower i think its like 8800 Stock then from there it goes lower and lower if you would slammy please tell us your clocks speeds as you overclock. So at first i thought Hey the card is BAD then i started think hey when i overclock i get better 3Dmarks which leads me to believe that the Albatron Cards are POWER HUNGRY. The power supply that i have now is DEER 400w psu "the gay ass ones that come in the chieftech dragon towers.
so if IM gonna Rent a power supply from Bestbuy "hehe" and pay out the ass for one to see if that will fix the problem then if it does i will return my rented product and purchase a better one from Newegg.

Damn! I like the Abit ones but I want a 128mb one - heard that they don't oc as well as the 64mb as memory is different but if you play games at 1600x1200, then the 128mb will shine over the more overclocked 64mb one...

Has anyone OC'ed they abit 4200 128mb and if so what are the results?

I wanted to get some Albatron 4200 Turbo - I mean this thing looks darn good in the reviews...what's going on? case-cooling maybe or psu or?

Which 4200 Abit have you got [N8]? the 64 or 128mb?

Look at ocsystem.com, they sell an enhanced 4200 128mb which is the Abit I believe - yet the price is the same as the Albatron 4200 Turbo on newegg but this last one is free shipping - the ocsystem one is oc'ed at 320/610MHz which is high and not that high for a modded one ....

my abit 64mb not otes do 375/720 with voltmod, and soon i think to going to lapp the gpu to get better cooling results and probably better overclock... i think is enought for an cheap ti4200, not?? :D ;)

and vmem is only to 3.6v, over 3.6v i get artifact... macci get it up to 4v, and some people can hit 4v for vmem... i don't know why i cant, but howether 720mhz for 4ns ram isn't bad right?

I've got the Abit Ti4200 OTES, and yes, it's loud. Unfortunately I can't get the damn thing past 315/575 without artifacts or lockups. The RAM (3.6ns Hynix) SHOULD definitely be able to go higher. I have a crap PSU though, a Chieftec 300W, and I haven't added RAM sinks to the card but 575, from the original 550? That seems weird.

How do I go about volt modding the Abit OTES? (by the way, Abit won't do Ti4200 4x 128mb OTES). I really believe I can get more speed out of the RAM.

Help. :confused:

Well I didnt get another albatron in the end, just another Gainward, but this card clocks better than my albatron and it has a A2 core...it does 338core and 640mem stock !

I have emailed albatron UK and I am awaiting a response, their office is only 18miles down the road, so i may ask for a replacement!

I shall keep you informed!

the voltmod is the same that you find in this forum
Vgpu at 1.92-3v
Vmem at 3.6v

swiftec MCW40-T on the gpu, 3° water ;)

without voltmod 360/670, same cooling

335/660 stock cooling

about 90$ less than albatron turbo in italy

The Albatron's gone and i'm not gonna miss the pos!!!
RMA'd to NewEgg and replaced it with another Abit 64mb ti4200.

A most impressive one at that. 335/650 stock outta the box.
No freeze and release bullschit either, it either runs 3DMark or locks.

My advice to you folks still tryin to make this card work is
to ditch it and buy something else. The Abits are clockin nice!

LOL it almost beat my highest 3DMark score without turning up cpu!!

Looking forward to moving "Onward and Upward" on the ORB

Glad it is better for you - In my case, I want a 128mb board cos' I game at 1600x1200 and want to move up - I was considering the Abit Siluro 128mb but it is known not to OC as high as the 64mb cos of the different RAM (4ns) ...
This OC'ed one from OCSystem looks good too and it looks like an Abit - same base price as the Albatron Turbo but I don't know how reliable they are...

dont feel bad dissolved mine sucks too 270/640 at most without artifacts.

Hmm ive decided to send mine back as well.I was looking at spending the same price for the LEADTEK ti4400 or maybe pay alittle more and get a GAINWARD ti4600.I really like gainward as my old card before i started messin with these geforce4 cards was a gainward geforce 2 PRO that i never had a single problem from and ran great.Ive havent been impressed too much since i started messing with these geforce4 cards at all.So what ya think about those 2 cards?Id really like a 128mb card cause i sure dont upgrade very often at all and its gonna be quite awhile before i get a new vid card.CPU is next along with mobo.

Well i just did alittle test.I run my Albatron at 279/607 where it seems to give me the highest score.Now i ran 3D Mark 4 times in a row without changing anything at all and heres the scores i got in the exact order: 8923 . 8636 , 8457 , 8313. Does that seem even close to being ok? i cant believe it just keeps dropping, im sure if i did it a fifth time my score would drop again.Im thinking maybe it happens when my PSU gets hot or something? Anybody have any ideas at all?
