Kakaroto, what should the HT be set at for 12x217fsb?? This should give me exactly 2.6ghz which is stock speed for fx55. I got corsair pc3500c2 bh5 2x512 .

217MHz is very low. The Chipset is made for 1000MHz HTT.
So 217x4 is not OC'ing...
I think your HD is the problem, try the SATA ports from the NVIDIA Chipset and not the external SATA controllers (marvell, silicon)
My Marvell SATA controller on the DFI is also badly locked..

For safe overclocking set the HTT Multiplier to 3x, because the difference between 4x and 3x is very little to none. Most chipsets won't run past 1GHz HTT. (Detecting array message...)

I'm not sure what you mean. You want me to try SATA ports from NVIDIA? So are you saying that port 3/4 is not Nvidia??? The reason why im using 3/4 is because people claim that they are locked and 1/2 are not.

Well try them out :)
I don't have this board but i think that the 2 SATA ports close to the chipset is not NVIDIA. I might be wrong so test it.

Tested some more with the mem, and i founded the fastest setting for my Gskill Ram at DDR600 1T

Tcl = 2.5
Trcd = 03
Tras = 05
Trp = 03
Trc = 07
Trfc = 14 (lowering cause freezing)
Trrd = 02
Twr = 02
Twtr = 01 (1 or 2 are the same performance)
Trwt = 02
Tref = 3072 (200MHz, 3.9µs) (this is the fastest setting in pifast. select 4708 for more stability)
Twcl = 01 (keep this 01, higher will not boot )

Skew value = 128 (increase)
Drive strength = Level 1
Max async = 7ns lowering cause freezing
Preamble = 5ns
R/W bypass = 16x
Bypass max = 7x
32B Granularity = Disabled (8 burst)

Only 2 dimms is crappy on this board.

Hope GSKILL find a solution for this, cause i bought 2dimm and if i cannot run them on a single channel board. That is not nice :(

I cant run SPD speeds, my max stable is 265MHz 2.5-3-3-5 1T.

You can try "5" also.
Dont really know what it is good for.

Based on testing w/ neo2

(Hey gimme a break, my UT is in RMA and I have to play w/ SOMETHING :D)

x9, 2-3-3-7 seems to work best

x10, 2-3-3-(7 to 10) all work about the same.

Something else for you to test out?

btw.. is there already a solution for the bug with DFI lanparty with 2x 512MB dimms?

Several user say its a bios bug and has to do with the HTT MP.

Update: used a new 3400+ 512KB processor and now with Drive strength level1 I can get 280MHz 1:1!!! with 2x512MB. :toast:

So the issue must be the internal memory controller, this one likes Gskill.

I ask jack from Gskill, he said it is a known compatible problem with single channel controllers :(

So only 1 dimm inserted you will get the max. mem stability.

Max stable is 265MHz 2.5-3-3-5 1T with 2 dimms inserted.

yep, got the same issues when using 2 memory sticks on the DFI Single channel board;
with only 1 stick it will go past 300FSB :banana4:

got older 3200+ CG stepping CPU, seems I need another CPU upgrade? :mad:

that ram looks really god can you get in in australia? i think that there is something about this board... my cpu wont go past 2160mhz stable and wont boot windows past 2430ish
so i tried raising HT and found 282x8 was as unstable as 270x9...
wth is this board doing to our cpus and rams

I had same problems with DFI UT NF3 250GB @ 2x512 MB ADATA VITESTA DDR500 when used DIMM 1&3....
Was not able to pass 255 FSB without MEMTEST errors....
But when i used DIMM 1&2 was able to reach 290 FSB CMD1T depending on DDR timmings used ..

Just try and see if 1&2 DIMM make some difference.... :D

not quite stable, get errors in memtest but enough for some benches :)

I must experiment more with the drive strength and some timings.

Nice clocks!

Your Tras looks way too low... with RAS to CAS and RAS Precharge at 4, set Tras at 10 (minimum). Run some tests, see how it goes. :up:
