Regardless Intel or AMD - take a look at that MB. Looks like some good stock cooling. Wonder how loud those little fans are?

well hardcore crowd and people with a spare $600 aren't one and the same group.
Overclocking cpu's(which is what we do most across the forum) will be same situation on both boards. Most people, even those who buy an sli board, won't buy a 2nd card straight away, and if you do spend $600 on a 2nd ultra card, the next speed bump nvidia cards will be out in 2 months.
AS for the "they'll be out next month" being said for 3-4 months for pci-e boards, thats bull. We've known the nvidia product launch will be mid october since late august or so, and we knew that was a press thing not available boards.
AS for unlockable features, the multi's might be some of them, dunno if they've scrapped the idea but there was supposed to be the bios codes to unlock more overclocking options, which should include i would guess the vdd voltage options, unlocked multis(very limited and on two chips only) and probably the range of other voltages increased.
Has anyone used this yet? http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=240148
thats a new board, not sure if anyone has it yet. Its out of stock so someone must have.
Ya :\ im kinda curious to see how its doing tho.
Fatal1ty AN8 appears to be very close now, no pics yet.

The AN8 SLi shows something called "uGuru 2005" and "Audio Purification Technology", also uses OTES, sounds interesting. Again no pics, check the links every couple of days and there should be something soon.

This is typical of zzf. the dfi board was on here when they were going to do the pre orders. It never worked out becuase zzf doesn't give you the option to preorder, they ended up doing the deal with gameve instead. I can assure you that zzf has never had this board in stock.Quote:

abit vs dfi i wonder who will come out on top.
Its going to be interesting to find out which is gana be the biggest badest NF4 board considering that alot of the companys are using NForce other thin via this time arround.Quote:

Well, maybe if someone is "hardcore" as you state, they'd get another board come SLI time :stick: I don't define myself as truly hardcore but Im in this boat. I would be an early adopter and buy a PCI-e mobo from AMD with nearly ANY of the three chipsets, right now(please God why not now :( ) if from a good manufacturer. I curently have an AGP GT that I would think about selling(before it gets much tougher) or trying to trade up with eVGA so I can go PCI-e.Quote:

I will pony up the money for a new board when the time comes but am noticeably less than excited about buying $400 video cards all the time. Everyones different, I guess I used "we" alot because Im sure a bunch are in the same boat. I'll pay for a short lived board if it means I can be comfortable with my card choice for a long haul. I imagine many people with 8 pipe cards getting restless. I was in this boat and jumped the gun a bit. Besides... knowing I might not have the board awhile, it'll give me a little nudge to REALLY GIVE IT HELL!! :D I'm down for a ~$150 experiment witha little promised fun. I am having little hardcore OC fun with my $400 GT simply because I dont exactly know what I want to do with it.
I repeat, there WILL be an AN8 SLi board, see my post above.

lets just hope that Abit makes a better board this time around, more compition will drive prices down.
abit AN8 SLi or DFI LAN PARTY SLI
anyway we still have a much time to think our choise :comp10:
Any news on the release date of a 939 DFI Board?
Me thinks AN8 Fatal1ty will be to expensive.
Given the fact that Abit has not produced a decent overclocking board since NF7-S I kind of doubt they still have the balls to do that.Quote:

This from what used to be the best overclocking name in the business. But everything changes, I guess.
The Intel version of the Fatal1ty turned out very nice. So wouldn't count Abit out just yet

Is this one of the ugliest motherboards you've ever seen? yeuck
umm i like that abit fatality ram cooler thing which fits over the dimm slots, hopefully it will be included in the NF4 version :)
yeah that would be nice for people pushing 3.2v+ through their RAM. Very nice idea...I'm really wondering if this will be another NF7 or something...but who knows...all those fans and extra stuff...just more stuff that could go wrong...

Ppl on xtreme are just too easily persuaded by one brand, Abit one day, DFI the next (there was a long time ago everyone hated OCZ here, and now everyone wants to suck ryan's :banana::banana::banana: :D). I couldnt give a stuff who designed the board and which gamer promotes the board, as long it overclocks good I will buy it
I couldn't agree more. One thing I do like about DFI's LanParty series is the aesthetics. Not only do they overclock good, they look as good as they overclock.Quote:
