stuff like this is never new.
the 9800SE from powercolor easily flashed to the 9800 pro, and sometimes even the 9800XT. people doubted that for about a year.
my 9800SE worked great when modded to a 9800 pro for about a year.
this isn't the only time, hardware has had so much potential for modding.
sometimes, you just got to take a chance before you.
I spent $400 on my Asus 6800 NU, which for the price I could have just got a GT.
but the Asus is alot closer to the 6800 Ultra, then a GT is.
so I bought it, it modded to the 16 pipelines, and does 445/1175 with ease.
so I got a card 98% exactly alike to the 6800 Ultra, but for only $400 :D
Got both of my cards today. Im testing one in my dual xeon rig now. 2x 2.8 xeons @ 3.65ghz each chip. Why not my sig rig you ask.
The dam Heatsink on the video card hits my NF3 chip with the thermaltake HSF i have on it. And it might even hit with the stock. I'll break out the dremel later and resolve that problem.
But for now i want to see if the vid card are the real deal. They cam clocked @ 325/1100 all 16 pipes are enabled. Im running 3dmark for the first time on one of them I set it @ 425 x1200 and not an artifact in sight.
both of mine are the real deal. Hat's off to Kunnaak for this deal. If it's in stock buy it!!!
$325 still isnt chump change but it's a hell of a lot less than buying an Ultra which is what this card is!!! I still dont understand why EVGA is doing this?? But they will sell every one they put out at this price.

this is my own Asus 6800 modded to 16P and 6 VS.

I've got Watt meter that you can plug your computer into than into the wall. Right now the dual xeon rig with the 6800 is pulling 255 watts. Full load with F@H running.

all you have to do is look at the cards themself, and you can see they are almost identical to 6800 Ultras.

You have to figure a lot of people save their money for that dream card, then when something like this does hit and you spent all your money it probably does make them mad. i just got done testing the 2nd one and it doesnt clock as high 415 it starts artifacting. I guess i know which one's going in my rig.

I just orderd one from zipzoomfly, hope I can run at at least ultra speeds, if so I'd be happy. Do these normally go to at least that? All I've really heard were the newegg reviews and some said they couldn't even get past stock, but I figure they don't know what they're doing.
