the results are very interesting still.
the faster the ram got, the more OCZ fell behind.
then again, I would have rather seen EB and not EL ram against this ram.
but for the cost of G.Skill, it looks like nice stuff.
EB is no longer available as far as I know, so there isn't a great deal of point in comparing it other than curiosity. I have EB3700, 3200Plat rev 2, balistic 4000, BH5 and 3700EL Plat, all in 2x512. The 3700EB plat is the best of the bunch in my unofficial and unscientific but real world testing. The 3700EL plat's use the TCCD chips, same as Gskill, so it is a bit of luck of the pair I suppose. I would guess that if you had 4 pairs of each, you would have results all over the place.
By the way at DDR530, my EB3700plat 2x512 still run fine at 2.5-3-3-7 with no volt mods. Haven't tried higher yet.
if its both tccd then the result is odd... why does one score worse than the other at the same speed and timings then? yes, theres a difference on what pcb you use, but its almost 40mb/s! thats a bit much for a tweaked pcb afaik.
could it be that the gskill has more aggressive alpha timings programmed in the spd eeprom or something? :confused:
I believe the 3700EL rev3 uses the new hynix chips.
I am pretty darn sure that it uses the tccb. At least that is what I remember Ryan telling me. Ryan? Tony?

3700gold rev3 uses Hynix DTD5
3200Plat rev2 uses TCCD
3700Plat EL uses TCCD

hmmm kevin or tony, have you seen such a performence increasement from just the pcb ? or is it some alpha timings or other internal timings that make the difference?
kevin, you said there are two different tccd pcb types and you had a better expirience with one of them, was that just better in the meaning of a higher oc or is there a score difference between both pcbs at the same speed and timings?

Wow that OCZ pc3200 Rev2 is starting to look very appealing. What about Geil pc3200 Ultra X, I have read a review saying it overclocks better and out performs OCZ.
Can you imagine if 6 months ago we could say:

yes it is, but when companies start showing off their own products comparing them to other products from the competitors it always goes wrong sooner or later...
look at all ati vs nvidia benches from ati or nvidia or amd vs intel benches from amd or intel? they always show their products as beeing waaaay superior to the competitors...

I have tested PQI, PMI, Gskill, Geil, OCZ and others...Im not going to say how and what the results were but I will say we do look at the competition and we constantly upgrade our products to remain the best you can buy. We also offer the best Customer Service out there with dedicated forums manned by overclockers who talk your language and who know what you want.
I stand behind the 3200 and 3700Plat, in real word benches(IE games etc) they were damn fast and I had ZERO probelems with them in all the boards I tested.
