I have info on NV6600 ATI counter...

They have a card with about 500Mhz core... 500Mhz ram... Think it was 128 or 256Bit ram interface... 8 pixel pipes.. BUT this is where ATI will win big time... 6600 has 3Vertex pipes... ATI's mid range GPU has 6xVS pipes...

X800 series x700? 6600 and 6800 will be SLI ;o)

But SLI is "only" good for 90% performance... And thats from the companys so its probably like peak performance in 1 program on 1 machine.. Would bargain about 75%...


Maybe my next machine will be Dual Xeon 3Ghz and SLI X800 ;o)

Intel prices just dropped like 35% on the XEONS!!! :D

I think 2 x 6800GT solution in SLI mode would be a very nice step.

If you run at 1024x768 then each card is running at 512x384 and if you are doing a 3dmark03 run with that effective resolution what are the scores ?

Can someone run a 6800GT at 640x480 to give an indication of what you get ?

This is why I think ill just wait for ati's x700xt and see how it measures against exisiting 9800 pros. Id feel dumb if I bought a good clocking 9800 pro only to match a stock x700xt LOL. If the x700xt is that good then its about time we see big drops in 9800pro/xt then!

i thought that ati wasnt going to implement any sort of SLi...
also the thing alienware has been advertising isnt SLi its supposedly their own technology that can be used with any 2 matching pci express cards. Id love to see what 2x x800XTs could do, its a shame alienware isnt licensing their tech to anyone else. so basically u have to buy an alienware system to get it which is a real pain.

last i saw.. it was $192 for a sapphire 9800pro.. i bought mine for about $200 tho...

7000 3dmarks 03 is fine... in fact its great!

i say.. screw the 6600gt... when it comes out hopefully the 6800nu will cost less.. that is clearly a much better card and will only cost (according to estimated) $50 more than a 6600gt? there is no comparison ;)
