Powercolor X800 Pro Vivo Success to XT. Who are those that said no? I think all vivos work.
Newegg probably has them in stock as well as most of the big-name retailers. Just make sure that you're getting the VIVO & not just the standard version.Quote:

As for the failures, I wonder why the ones that have failed haven't posted about their card...
Or is it a case of "let's just fark up the vote"??

I used the Gigabyte bios and then used the XT bios from Paddy007s "how to" page.
I'm thinking of hooking the cooler fan upto the 12v rail as it never seems to spin up too high and this card does get very toastie when running DX9 apps, much more so than running DX8.
can you give me a link 2 the how2 page ?Quote:

Woot, woot!!
Looking good there fellas.
2 unflashable against 23 that are.
The odds are looking so much better atm.
For those who aren't clear as what to do, go to OCFaq & d/load the flashrom (latest) as well as the ATI X800XT PE bios & there are links on this page to get the Gigabyte X800XT bios as well.
There are some good how-to's here as well.
It's good to see ppl being helpful.
/slaps himself for thinking bout getting another one to replace 9800XT...:D
Minnyboy
anyone tried this with an actualy Gigabyte X800 Pro VIVO since the Giga XT BIOS is the popular one???
oooh thx pkrew for the explenation, if they were failed or unstable cores...isn't it always 100% of sucessful flash rate?
Manufacturer: Sapphire X800Pro VIVO

Overclocks on waterblock 525/595, temps not reason for holding card back, me thinks there is overcurrent protection on these cards. Poorer cores leaking more current as clock speeds go up, even whislst temps good, leading to freezes, drop out etc.
Card now dead, turned computer one morning kept tellimg me power cable not plugged in, tried 2 diff PSU, defo card, not seen this be4 on X800 cards. Checked solder joints on card, looked fine. Card sent back no ETA for replacement.
Same that happend to my first Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO after a few hours of service. Sorry for your loss... :(Quote:

Really? That actually makes me feel better that it was nothing in my system that caused it.Quote:

Thanxs dude
:)
Yes, died the same day I got it. The replacement works like hell but not the best overclocker, makes XT PE speed but that's it...Quote:

What exactly happened when it died ? i was running 1.6 vcore in the beginning now @ 1.5. If i read this i'm thinking i was verry lucky considering i was running it on air and stock cooling.Quote:

Didn't do anything, it refused to boot after I put my new rig in the Vapo....Quote:

Club3D x800 pro vivo flashed to gigabyte bios. 16 pipes baby! I knew it would work, but damn I'm still excited!!
Can game with Far Cry and UT2004 no problems for now. Weird thing is with atitool, the clocks are pushed down to remain artifact free. I ran it for half an hour and downclocked the xt speeds to 495/550. Will try the original xt bios for more stability.
Benched with 3dmark03, got slightly over 12000 with 2.5Ghz barton. Not bad. :toast:
UPDATE: did pencil mod and original xt bios update (not very helpful). Checked out the original vcore, my cheapass multimeter (mastech m-830b from maplins(UK/Ireland peeps)) read 1.39v. So i upped it to 1.45v. Tested with atitool. Ok stock xt pe speeds (tested for 7 mins). Looking for high core and mem now.
Another success here with a Powercolor
but , after a 10-15 minutes gaming in FarCry restart the comp , i am with water cooling , and thye temps are prety low... so there is some other problem .....
The "NO" votes are concerning me, Do you think it's just a bunch of fools that try's to ruin the card good name? :(
Because I must 100% sure all VIVO cards all moddable.
