great stuff... Why dont we stick everthing under LN2 and see what they score? Maybe some uber 486's?

Its not that xtreme when you think about it.
Toms Machine does 34xx ( AMD ) at 24s at -118
MEMSAMAs machine does 55xx ( P4 ) 23s at LN2 at -198 Degres.
Can he run 32M.. ?
But none the less impressive with an 2.8 :slobber:
The 5.5 GHz Prescott is NOT at -198... :D
And there's a little bit of a price difference between the two CPUs.
Exactly Endre;)
Memsama is a world class overclocker. :toast:
I know it is not -198, buit i meant his cooling did -198.
Sry, my english is a bit rusty..
Year - The price diffrense is HUGE..
But so is the price of the cooling..!!
Tom = 8000 USD
MEMSAMA = approx 600 USD with container?
diffrense / 7400 ! LOL.. Is 1 Sec in SuPI worth 7400 USD?
No Doubt!!Quote:

I really dont find the point in that comparison? Are you trying to say that in order to get 1sec slower time w/ AMD you need to get a CPU that costs 4x more than the intel, RAM thats 2x more expensive and cooling thats .. well a lot more expensive..Quote:

And why in the hell are you saying "not that xtreme'? 5.6GHz is not extreme? 2.8 @ 5.6GHz is not extreme? Running 1M test at nearly 5.6GHz w/ RAM at 265 1:1 2-2-2-5 DC is not extreme? Running a PrescHOT at 5.6GHz 1.65V is not extreme? Sir, if none of that is extreme then WTF is? :D
Yes, he is the World Record holder => 21m 46s @5212MHzQuote:

someone tell this guy to download 3dmark
none of the japanese seem to bench with it at all

Of course, that assumes that each person only bought one cpu. If you buy 30 cpu's before you get a gold one, then you can't very well brag about what a value your gold cpu is since it only cost $100, despite the fact that you spent $3000 finding it.
cant belive my eyes:slobber: tot insane, numbers...me 9 secs after..will i ever reach these times:confused: ...NOPE:p:
Grats from sweden anyway.:toast: :toast:
No macci - My hole point in that post, was. Tom has got equipment for over 10KUSB. And MEMSAMA have got for approx ? 1K..Quote:

And memsama got lower scores than tom.. The first post was never intented to be posted.. ( cant exspress my self )
conclusion : memsama wins with 1K tom second with 10K.. Se my point?`Or should i just go to bed?
You can't compare the 2......... p4 vs FX! Give Memesama fx + LN2 and he'll do better!
C
Yeah, why is that...lazy bums :DQuote:

 Great 1M score though...very impressive for a $166 CPU.
Do you think Memesama could get even better FX clocks than Tom?Quote:

You also need to understand that as we crank the times down lower and lower, it gets harder and harder and takes more clock speed to knock off 1 more second.
Going from 24s to 23s is a "LOT" harder than going from 30s to 29s...
For an example that is easier to understand...imagine going from 2 seconds to 1 second...that would take double the processing power that it took to calculate Pi in 2 seconds...
I wish i had a 5ghz+ cpu lol, i doubt ill have one that fast anytime soon, maybe my watercooling can push my 2.4c a little farther though.. congrats to him though
Well.......Quote:

I'm inclined to think that LN2 would give equal or greater clocks than a cascade @ -120C. But since I've never seen it done or tried it myself, I don't know :D
C
I thought that last i heard toms CPU was about -112C...Quote:

With LN2 the CPU is about -9XC right??? So...
And i would rather have 24/7 -118C cooling for 8000$ than LN2 for 600$ for about 10 min... Hehe-...
Ln2 doesn't cost 600 dollars where are you getting that number from?
Mini,
Toms cascade evap base is -112C,
ln2 cooler base can be anything from -190C to -100C (depending on how cold you want to go).
ln2 does't cost 600$ its more like 60$ (or less if you know the right people :D)
And Ln2 gives you a lot more benching time than 10mins..
wow!!
yah my geneticist friend said that his company get Ln2 for about 50c per liter. course they buy in bulk but still
i think i could find it at 1.00 to 1.50$ per liter
hey macci how many liters u need for a good 4-6 house bench session?
you cant compare cascades with ln2. ln2 is the equivalent of strapping a rocket to a car and seeing how fast it gets down the track.Quote:

the liquid nitrogen may be -192C ....BUT you are forgeting that the base of the container is more like -100C. nitrogen creates a boundary layer when it evaporates that lowers conductivity. this is the reason that some people have dipped fingers into the nitrogen and pulled them out quickly without harm (DO NOT ATTEMPT)
"When I put my fingers into the liquid nitrogen, a layer of the liquid evaporated imme-diately. The nitrogen gas then created buffer between my skin and the liquid. In gasform, the nitrogen is a much poorer heat conductor; there is a much lower moleculardensity and the molecular collisions needed to transfer heat energy occur less frequently. Thus the nitrogen gas can maintain the large temperature difference between my skinand the liquid for a short time"

Tom's cascade is just as cold on die as that ln2. pc ice's 4 stage cascade will make both look like a think of the past.
Damn impressive scores!
Everytime when i see those freaky scores i think about when the rest of the world get it...
Very nice, respect! :slobber:
Macci: This is what i meant... LN2 is only about -100 <-> -120C While toms EVAP is -118... I just thought his CPU was -112... But thats almost if not better in toms case???Quote:

what can I say....WOW.
but yeah, get 3dmark01, im curious to see what that can do.
