well i think youre getting some rare results there mate
i havent seen many EB to reach that high...
i dont think its down to the board...
tomorrow i am getting another P4....unless you mean its that certain model that doesnt allow them to run higher....
I just got my 2 256MB PC3700 EB sticks. They do 230 Mhz 2.5-2-2-6 but 235 Mhz 3-3-2-6 is an instant crash. Not good huh.
This is on a NF7-s with vdimm 3.1V, the board can do 265FSB with BH5 ram at 2-2-2-5 so I'm very disappointed with these sticks.
Guess I'll burn them in for week and if no improvement I'll sell them right away.
that is sad mate indeedQuote:

i was even thinking of selling mine...but i dont think 242 is thaaat bad...for my sticks with 2.5 2 2 5 still havent found their max 3 3 3 8 timings
tomorrow...
my questions aren't answered by you :( ;)Quote:

IIIIINSANE !
are 290MHz stable ?! :slobber:
and whats about HT-multiplier ? (so, is the MemController running @ ~1278MHz too ?!?! :slobber: :D ;) )
voltage ?
sandra ?
:D
Well, since you're running an Intel board, it's limiting your memory more so than running AMD. I have the exact same problem and so do many others running 865/875 boards.
New board is in
volt mods done...didnt go higher...
HaLDoL - Let us know if you find anything.. it seems to me some timings on the nF2 boards doesnt agree with EB too well.
I played around a little more with mine...and darn thoose memories has decided to not go a mhz above 240mhz stable.... no matter what I do.... i tried all timings possible...all voltages up to 3.7..I also tried better cooling on them.... but nada, zip, nischta, finito.....they just refuse.
Then I tried a pair of BH-5´s and it went straight up to 250 without a glitch..

My (modded) IC7 maxed at around 255 with 2x512MB 3700EB at 3-2-2-6 timings (and 3.0=> 3.3V tested).
Same ram (@3.3V) on A64 K8N Pro mobo hit 295MHz with same timings..

they are some weird sticks man
so from what i have seen so far
max 242...up to 3.05V @ 2.5 2 2 5
3 3 3 8 arround 265fsb i havent checked yet
3 4 4 8? dunno yet :p
I have very different results from board to board...the NF7S ver2 is a dog IMO and i won't be running it instead of of my DFI LP for anyone ;)
A64 150 260 1:1 for me with 2.8Vdimm 3-2-2-9 so more vdimm may get me more.NF3 250 is not as good with the chaintech although the board is DAMN fast...240ish max 2.5-2-2-9 with 2.9V.
IC7max3 VTT mod 260ish 1:1 max 667 strap 2.5-2-2-5 at 3.1V for 4k Unbuffered ;) P4C800E with special new OCZ product ;) 260+ 2.5-2-2-9 at 3.2Vdimm(ran upto 4.4V and that didn't help either ;))
Still playing with boards here but as you see they don't do to bad.
I did try the Nf7Sver2 with a cpc off bios and it did help the clock so this may be worth looking at.
what new ocz product was that...Quote:

that did 260fsb 1:1? 2.5 2 2 5 on the abit? :D
+ u talking about stable mhz or max benchable?
at 240 1:1 2.5 2 2 5 8 turbo enabled infinite 64ms
6457
6457 buffered
unbuffered
3388
3436
is what i get...sound right?
@ bigtoe: maybe some "new" stuff of the EB-Series ? :) "maybe" PC4000-EB ? :D
wow maybe I need to buy a 256mb stick of that eb ram if it can do 240+ at ras-cas of 2 just for 3dmark then sell the ram a week later when im done with 3dmark. Its too expensive to keep for gaming or to buy a gig
Correction: Not the NF7 is the dog as it performs very good with other RAM. I don't like you downplaying the NF7 just because your company failed to deliver performance on this board.Quote:

The NF7 is still an excellent board, in my opinion you'll have lesser problems and you'll get better overal oc results with an NF7 than with an LP or infinity. It has more vcore by default and a working vcore mod for a DFI LP has not been found. Combined with low SATA speeds, coldboot syndrome, bad bios support and easy bios corruption makes a DFI infinity or LP worse than an NF7.
So OCZ EB RAM is the dog here (on a NF7). For it's price it should perform way better than 230-240 @ lousy timings. Even my twinmos/twinmos RAM does 230 at the same timings and it's not even half the price.
Coldboot is solved by a simle U shaped peice of wire.
LP/Infinity has much more bios support than nF7
Bios corruption is evident in any nForce2 based motherboard, it is not vendor specific.
Now, that said, I find any nForce2 board to be generally very unreliable as to whether it will perform or overclock as well as the next one on the assembly line, 'though I sure wouldnt mind knowing what timing on them is limiting some ram from overclocking as well as other ram when comparred to how it will do on a different chipset based motherboard.
Well after you test as many boards as i do m8 you get to know what is shat and what isn't..Quote:

You need to thank tictac and the bios modders for getting the Nf7 to where it is now....i don't have the patience to play to the extent that board needs to get it working.
I hit 272fsb on an unmodded DFI LP with a final release bios never mind any of the beta files oskar has provided...i would love to see someone do it as easy as i did on the Abit.
With regard to the ram being rubbish...it works for me on all my boards here apart from the NF7s ver2 where it runs around the same as everyone elses without board mods.
