BTW, slightly off topic, but I'm working on another KD7/AT7Max2 issue...hard drive corruption at higher FSB speeds. Based on a tip from Player0, I'm going to be looking at the new V-Link 533mhz bus and see if HD corruption can be avoided at higher FSB speeds by disabling the V Link Bus option in the BIOS.

I've turned off APIC as Mdzcpa has suggested, and I've got the XMS3500 C2 Running 12X172 CAS 2 1t Command Enhanced ON!
How about all the other settings Que Depth Ras etc... There are a lot of settings no one talks about...
How about burn in.... Should I run Sandra Mem Bench in Loop? I assume I should set it at normal. But How about the RAM Settings and Voltage.. What Should I back them down to?

Your memory should go much further than that, my XMS3200 CL2.5 does 175 at max 2-2-5-2 1T timings (2.85v).
Well There are a lot of other factors.. Different board.. And PCI Devices are probably the biggest...... I suspect my Promise Raid Controller for limiting FSB... The other factor is that niether the Chip, nor the RAM are burned in.... I'm trying to determine the best way... I have not had great results with the methods I have used in the past...Quote:

Paul's Unofficial KX7-333 FAQ has a good explanation of all the obscure memory settings.
Thanks for the link, I've read pauls FAQ for Quite sometime. But That is for the KX-7.... The KD is different....
BTW, Thanks OPP, and everyone... Those Registry Settings have cooled my Temps down 5 Degrees C. Both System & CPU...

Now that The Temps are more in control I can try somemore Benchmarks.... 12X172 seems no problem... But I would like to Burn in The RAM... The chip has not been burned in either.... Can you guys post you best proceedures, and settings to do this...

My KD7 died 5 hours after install. Slight burning smell like OPP had, but I did not find the exact source, maybe SB? I was running 2100 on air. Tested each component, diffinitely the mobo. It's going RMA on Monday.
Royd.... There is only 1 pot on my TTGI that controls both +5 and +12. I guess I wasn't clear on that, sorry. Mine holds 5.08 under load.
I guess I'm not the only one having problems with this board after reading this thread. Pretty bummed! There are some good tips in this thread that I will try when RMA gets back. Thanks:D

Sorry To hear about the board.. That sucks.
There have been reports about failures... Mdzcpa... Has posted that he had two boards I believe that had extremely hot South Bridges. Enough to put a welt on your finger...
Mine stays luke warm..... He reported that it continues to stay hot after you shut it off... As long as it's plugged in.....
I suspect that there is an issure with the Small plug on the motherboard that come from the case power switch, and LED... For instance.. unless I put the orientation of my LED plug the opposite of the Power On plug the light does not work....
I wonder if the people that were having problems with heat happen to have some the plugs reversed? Hmmm.....
Anyway.... I've Been @2100 for while... And Have just burned in this new XMS3500 RAM, and New XP2200 Chip with Sandra for 24 hours.... Also gave the new TTGI PSU a chance to burn in....
I'm going to see how it runs shortly.... I'm sure glad I have the Test Rig to try this stuff out on before I put it in here...

My board was not even in a case yet,,still open waiting for my new prom, so I had no pins connected to anything, jumped the board with a screw driver. Hope that was not the problem...I have run many new rigs this way for days before packing them up in a case....makes it easy to get to in case anything needs changed, etc. all parts were brand new except video card,,I still need to order a Ti4600. I went to the for sale section to snag Mr, Icees, but it was already sold. I hope the RMA board does better, should have it back up in a few.:D
The one I have has some major heat problems. Running a 2200+ @ 2075MHz MBM5 is reading mobo temp at 58c and cpu at 34c. This is with my Q Power with Pelt. Tried to run at just over 2100MHz temp was up in the 40,s. not happy at all.:(

This lowered My Sys & CPU Temps By 5 Degrees C.
change D5 to 1E and D2 to E8.
This should really help....
