Bios 14 was used on the Anandtech review..the board hit 248fsb and showed 33MHZ on a PCI geiger at this speed.

if your board has the pro chipset and you have bios 14 or 15 installed the lock should work.

bigtoe, that sounds good, but can you trust 130% at that?

If you can, then i will buy the Abit, if they have fixed the problem with booting up at x9 on x10 cpu's ??

Incidently,

Im told 13 was the bios used in Annands review, but it didnt work for me. So far I have tried 11, 13, 14, and 15. 15 seems best by virtue of its functional mutlipliers.

What drive do you have? I'm running a Seagate, and when I go past 212 the bios doesn't even detect the hard drive during post - just get the message about nothing to boot from.

Dont buy the Soltek either.

I have a gig of 3500 mushkin level 2 black.

It is spd programmed at 2,2,2,5.

My soltek nf3 150 wouldnt run trcd @ 3 and the bios didnt offer manual dram timings. There has been no bios release for the board yet. Totaly unstable with this ram without one.

Your luck may be better, but there are better options.

If you want a barebones Nf3 the chaintech vnf 250 looks to be the current front runner. Ive read it has manual ram timings and a new bios with multi's working.

Im not an expert, but my money is on NF3 250 untill shown a kick ass overclocking, fully lockable via board.

I want the 250 gb for its on board gigabit nic, because it features a hardware firewall and doesnt ride the pci bus.

The msi looks to have what I want, unless it suprises everyone and ends up being a pos. The epox also uses the onboard nic/firewall.

To be honest, any Abit board scares the scat out of me.

one WD 36GB raptor, and one seagate 120GB.
In fact, if my CPU and ram would have let me, it would get to windows at 233 FSB, it just wasnt prime stable.

I think I'll be waiting for DFI NF3250/KT800Pro boards.

You can only rely on DFI fixing BIOS issues and giving us what WE want :D

Dang, I was really interested in trying one of these out. I imagine they'll get it sorted out , but what is with them dropping the vdimm to only 2.8v from 3.2? Come to think of it, why do all the A64 motherboard makers have only 2.8-2.9v max for vdimm?

I'd rather have the lock working - you can still get 3.2 volts for the ram in windows.

Over at Abit-USA's forum, "Abit Marketing" stated,

The latest 14 BIOS can fully support multiplier adjustment in the BIOS as well as PCI/AGP Bus lock. We have found that if you change the multiplier in the BIOS and save, the system will lock and the post code shows F1. However if you power it down and power it back up the multiplier selection should stay.

The boards that we have here are all working properly. For people that who are having issues with locking up after you change AGP/PCI lock or Multipliers, I would suggest you to contact our RMA department to replace the boards.

That is strange. All the guys I have asked about the 1.4 bios, have confirmed that the AGP/PCI lock doesn't work.

Does this mean all of us have to send the board for RMA?

All Athlon 64's should have multipliers unlocked downward from their stock setting (ie. 3200+ CH should have access to Multipliers 4-10).
