1Gb of RAM or a better vid card?

I totally agree with ya :D That's why I said go for X800!

I play BF1942 almost everynight and i can tell you this, 1gig is so much faster then 512 both for gameplay and loading maps. I have a NF7-s mobo with 2.7ghz mobile barton and 9800pro and i get 90-99fps at 1600x1200 reso with 4x AF in a full 32/32 server.

If i were you i'd rather have 1gig of ram and 9800 pro then 512 and x800pro. I think 1gig is a must for todays ultra 3d games like farcry,2004, BF1942, BFV, etc..........But again it also makes sense to go with 512mb and x800pro and then u can start saving for additional 512mb stick so its really your choice. And again, lol , why dont u just wait for x800 xt and 1-256mb stick? lol j/k.. its your choice....but right now so much stuff is coming out and i would just wait a month and see what fits your wallet best. well in my expirience a 9700pro with 256mb produced a lot more fps than 512mb with a geforce3 in far cry and ut2004, yet the game was more fluid and more playable on the gf3+512mb combo as i got annoying lags in a couple of games.

nice fps dont help you when the game lags all the time...

X800XT - Too expensive for my blood...
I think i'll go for the 1x512Mb for now, when I get my rig done, I can delay my gaming enjoyment till I get more RAM... I'll overclock till then! :banana:
By the way, the RAM is A-DATA DDR500, so it's very cheap (Here in Israhell we don't have large variety of RAM, and the prices are hell...)

I'd say go for the 512 + X800 option as it's going to be cheaper and quicker to save for another stick of RAM than another gfx card.
