em.. multiplier 8?
i want multiplier higher than 10 :)
why? The only way to determine your max FSB is with a low multiplier. It only stresses your memory and the memory controller of the board, so you can avoid cpu limitations.
It seems that 265FSB 1:1, dc and cpu int enabled is the maximum for my NF7. This is probably the case for all NF7 boards (maybe some good boards can do up to 270).
But I don't think an NF7 can do more.
I'd love to see someone who can do better than 265FSB, 1:1, dc, 2-2-2-5/11 timings and cpu int enabled, but as for now the conclusion is that under the above conditions an NF7 can't do more than that.
I'd be very happy if someone proves me wrong.
PS: And if you want I can give you benches at 10x265 and 10.5x260 (cpu limited).
i want 10.5 x 265MHz... :D

Best I could do on my Nf7 V2, using the sub-zero bios. Not 3dmark stable. Same old problem tbh, High this, no high that :D
Just drop the FSB and up the Vcore. Voila :D

Must try CPC patch of yours when I get a minute :)
Nice to someone keeping the Socket A alive and kicking
Cheers

p/s: Haldol... if u can bench it @ 265MHz x 10.5 2-2-2-11 timing.... then u should compete in this race :D
GL
so u guys who are hitting these high fsbs (250+) have CPC disabled? wuts the max u can get with it enabled?
does it decrease as much performance on your boards as it does on Infinitys?
haldol- wanna see that 10.5x260 bench man. :D
Heh.. I'm gonna test it out :D
Anyone been able to dl the bios? I been trying all afternoon here in cali
Atleast for me it didn't make any difference, I can run superpi at 250 cpc enabled and I think it was 252 disabled soo... but I think it's my ram that holding me back, 11-3-2-2.0 3.2v at 250 I'd say is pretty good for CH-5 ;)Quote:

So if I understood this correctly, I don't need to disable CPC for my single sided 256MB HyperX3200?
if you disable it, you'll get more FSB! (between 2-5mhz is suppose, according to the other guys who tried the bios)

Hehe, 265x10.5 = 2782.5 MHz, no way my cpu will do that on air. But if someone could lend me his prommie .... :)
Anway next week I'll be getting a new NF7, an xpm 2600+ and some OCZ EB pc3700 mem. I won't settle for less than 270 FSB :D
Stay tuned ...
hehe... the boards won't let you bench at 270 unless you have ambients of -11°C (Lastviking) :DQuote:

265 has been max for all under normal circumstances...
Yes Noticed that, well 265fsb is still a damn fine overclock for the Socket A platform. Shame we will never see the socket A hit 300FSB out of the box.Quote:

OK Tic'y!!!
You almost have it....at least for me. I can now memtest using that CPC version at 230Mhz, 11,2,2,cas2.0 with 2x 512M BH5 without error. With stock D24 or D10 I cant go over 195-200Mhz error free (CPC default'd to ON).
So thats a huge breakthrough, and I boot ok, etc etc. I can boot to Windows at 220, and am still trying to find max 3D stability.
But caveat with ME.... my board always has trouble with post D10 bios's trying to go past 210ish FSB, regardless of the ram used, etc.
I can do 2x 256M, 2600+mobile at 10.5x245Mhz on D10 and same setup cant go past 225Mhz with D23 -24- etc.
Need further testing here, but I'd say this is SAFE for others to test with. Good going Tic'y!!!!
Now... can you do this mod to D10s4247? That would let me truly check out the CPC mod.
Yeah. It's a chipset/cpu/architecture limitation IMHO.Quote:

Tic'y....
Confirmed 215Mhz 3D stable 2x 512M BH5 in my board....wouldnt do over 195Mhz rock solid pre-YourFix.
Im now at 230Mhz 11,3,3,2.5 Ill test this out.....11,2,2,2 works at 215Mhz rock solid. Stil along way from the 240Mhz on the LPuB but we are making progress. Too bad ABit isnt interested in fixing thier own product. How EMBARRASSING for THEM ;-)
Well at 11,3,3,2.5 it does 225Mhz 3Dstable....230Mhz crashes 3Dmark. Farcry is fine at 225Mhz 11,3,3,2.5, and 215Mhz 11,2,2,2
So looks like ALOT of forward progress.
I'd really like to test the CPC fix as implemented here, in the D10 bios. My machine is good for a 20-30Mhz loss in FSB between D10 and D23.
Nice work Tic'y!!!!
Hehe. Uwackme, did you try any of the bioses I sent ya?
Would be interesting to see how they perform like in comparison...
Just posting to get regular updates :D
Well done to Tictac, trats, and all others involved!!

Hey SAE!! Yes I tried them, in longterm test of 121 varient now, solid at 230Mhz, but 505 in general wont let me go much higher, while 131 or 121 original woudl let me go to 240Mhz. But at 230Mhz rock solid and not a smidge of lan/sound troubles yet.
Without question the LPuB/infinity let me get higher FSB with 2x 512M by a long shot.
Ive tested Tic'ys it is nice, Im on Trat/Triest version of D24 now, about the same top end.
As always ...MY... board doesnt like D23-24, it is a D10 board. I would really like to test these CPC fixes in D10 and see what is what. Something in the later bios's just doesnt agree with my NF7-S's, never has. D10 runs awesome on them though....sans the CPC issue.
But a 20-25Mhz improvement is nothing to shake a stick at.... nice job Tictac, Trats, Triest.
Nice. Those bioses are really stable for me... Erm. Seems like everybody not able to run CPC on prefers the 1-31... weird, cause for me it's too unstable in 3d...Quote:
